Hi i have just started to buy some RC Tanks including a HEN LONG 1:24 scale. I have 2 others a T34 and a Tiger both 1;16 scales made by WSN. Any way I have noticed the difference in quality greatly, for instance the HEN LONG has rubber tracks !! everytime I drive it on the concrete the tracks just shed easily. It was actually advertised as a Marui Airsoft as well, but I only paid $69 so I know it was another scammer. I still bought it and it is fun considering it fires BB Bullets and all, but apart from that its not fun when ya have to put the tracks back on 20 times an hour.. ha ha. So what I was wondering is it possible to change the HEN LONGS tracks to metal ?? or a harder plastic ?? and if so I am in Australia, so where should I be looking as freight from America is expensive I couldnt even buy a tank over there as the shipping was always nearly more than the Tank itself. Please help, as I am a Blonde Female!! ha ha

1/24 HL are no-no's, I certainly don't recommend them, as their bigger 1/16 counterpart are a much better tank.

1/24's are still built as they were years ago when HL entered the game, whereas their 1/16 have been revised and improved, have loads of upgrade parts if you want/need them and a massive following.

Hi Sandy

I have no experience with the 1/24 scale Heng Longs. I have read even the 1/24 scale VS tanks shed tracks at an alarming rate. As far as I know , there are no metal upgrades, but maybe the V 1/24 tracks would work?

As Wacky pointed out the 1/16 scale Heng Longs are a much better tank, and the smoke and sound ones offer far better control with a more robust drive line then the WSN tanks you own. I think the new WSN's are nicely finshed, and offer a great source of Tiger parts for detailing up a Heng Long. If you are in this game for anytime, you will buy a 1/16 scale Heng Long and you will find this out for yourself.

Enjoy the hobby, but remember the 1/24 scale Heng Long is in no way a good representation of what they are doing in 1/16 scale. I have nothing against 1/24 scale but the facts are, an aftermarket parts supply does not exist like it does for 1/16 scale tanks.

Also welcome to the forum. You are new to this board, and I would like to point out you are in the "war room". There is another section called RC tanks. Generally questions about RC tanks are best posted in there, as they get a faster reply.

I think this war room is supposed to be for prototypical tank topics and battles. Lately the focus seems to be all over the place though.
