I built 3 3s1p packs out of a Dewalt Pack and bought the sonic charger and balance taps and i wired them all up and none of them charge???? It just gives me a blinking error light?? Soo i built a 2s1p pack and it charged to 7.2v but 1 cell is 3.4v and 1 is 3.8v. I am using a 350w computer power supply at 12v and 15 amps. I know i got the power and the wiring right right but what could the problem be??????

I have the same red error light when the 3s1p is attached.

When the battery is attached, the error light turns solid red. I have the balance taps wired correctly according to the developer cell diagram.

The power supply I am using is a Vantec 470w PC power supply 10.8V 28amps.

It might be the input voltage to the charger. My 12v lead on my power supply actually reads 10.8v for some reason. Check it with your voltmeter. Let me know what you get.

Its 11.84v with a 10 amp load. So i know its enough.

I have the Sonic Charger and use a 12 volt car battery. The only time I get the red error light is when the input voltage is below 12.6 volts. After I charge the battery the red light does not come on.

I would try connecting the charger to your car battery to see if you get the error light or not.

this is because PC power supplies can not provide the correct voltage unless you load the 5V rail. These PSU only regulate the 5V output therefore you need to load the 5 volt output to get the unit tio give you a good 12V at a high current. a resistor of about 0.5 Ohms and about 20W will do nicely. Once you have done that then see what the loaded voltage is at the PC PSU
