I recently acquired a 1/12 combat fw190d-9 composite fuselage from ebay. The guy I got it from said he got it in Germany but it was made in Czech. It didn't have anything on it that said who made it. I've searched the internet looking for anything similiar but have found nothing. I've already started buiding it and I would like to try to find more of these fuses if possible. Anybody ever seen one or know where to find them? Any help would be great.

Has anyone tried to get a Stein model into the US? Some of those planes look really nice.

The Stein models look pretty sweet, I just wish I could translate what they were saying. What are the wings made of?

the wings are foam core, its a pretty nice plane and the price isn't bad but I hear the shipping is expensive if you can get one shipped. i'm hoping to have it ready to fly by the weekend but I didn't get a complete kit so I've had to scratch build some stuff including a canopy that I'm still working on

Finished the plane this weekend, I only got a chance to briefly fly it though, I didn't have any instructions and had to quess where the CG was, and was a little off. The plane apparently was a little tail heavy and I didn't have any wieght in my box so I'll have to wait until next weekend to give it a good test flight. But it seems to fly pretty good and it came out really light too. even with the motor at idle the plane still was able to maintain altitude. Headed into a 10mph it will hover at idle.

Had a combat buddy from Boise ID. buy some kits from them last year. Just sent them his credit card number, I belive the shipping was around $20.00 per kit.

I have built two of these...the FW-190 and the Typhoon. I am actually in the process of redoing the FW-190, it was sooooo fast! I had the Norvell .25 in it. Hand launching was always non eventful. I had crashed it though and was looking for a set of foam wings. Finally found a guy on eBay that cuts them...$20.00 shipping included. Just search for foam cores on eBay.
Hey, let me know what you are using for engine/motor and electronics. I was thinking on going electrice this time. I think I actually have the instructions someowhere, I can pull them up and post the CG for you. What does your dora weigh in at?

Maybe some of us could get together and try and place an order with Stein.....

I don't have a fish scale or anything to wieght it but I'm guessing betwween 1 and 1.5 lbs. If you could post the CG that would be great. I have a os 25fx in it with hs 225bb and hs81 servos and futaba 2.4 radio. I also modified it with a working rudder just in case it didn't have enough right thrust to counter act tq since the wingspan is only 36 inches, but I didn't even need it. The engine is at about 4 degrees right and it has no problem hand launching.

I took the 190 out today and with a little trial and error I finally got it balanced to where it would fly normal. I ended up putting 42 grams of wieght in the nose. It's not the fastest combat plane I've seen. Hopefully once the motor gets broke in it will be faster, a mousse can should help too.

Of all the kits I have seen from Stein, the cg is 55mm back from the leading edge...I hope this helps. I couldn't find my instructions for the FW, only for the typhoon.
