Hi,
Just a simple question:

I need to open the back to adjust the stick tension and I'm assuming that the RF module has to come out first. Correct?

If so, the RF module seems to be quite tightly in there. I've never removed it before (I've used the radio very little, because I stopped the hobby after only one season years ago; will of course range check it). I'm a little tentative on how much force to use and about pulling too hard at a wrong angle. I'm squeezing the two snaps together of course. Is the tightness just initially and then it suddenly pops out? Any way of pulling on it "the wrong way"?

Will be nice to get the sticks feeling a bit stiffer once I get the back off properly without breaking anything.

Thanks

EDIT: I just realized that I didn't post this in the general radios forum, which is probably more appropriate place for it (especially as it's an older radio). If a Moderator wants to move it there, feel free to do so. Thanks.

I just squeeze the tabs, and wiggle the module just a bit as I pull outward on it. I can't remember if it "pops out" or just slowly comes loose. Just pull straight out the back, and you'll be ok.

oops, sorry - just realized this is the direct manufacturer's support forum. You should probably wait for an official response from Hitec..

Thanks for reply. I thought this thread should be moved anyway

Turns out that top snap was just reluctant to unsnap. It came off smoothly after the top snap released (your input helped me to find what was holding it, Thanks).

I need an additional clarification now that it's open (just in case because I've never done this). The manual diagram points to only one tension screw for the flight stick side (mode 2). There appear to be two of them (and there should be two). Is the diagram in the manual just sort of abbreviated? There is a second screw (for the second axis) which looks exactly like the first one pointed-to in the diagram (obviously I want to adjust both axis not just one).

I know the above sounds like a stupid question, but the manual should be more clear about these things... so just want to confirm my obvious assumption.

Thanks

EDIT: I got the flight stick adjusted (the second screw was what I thought it was; the diagram should show that too). Was not necessary to remove RF module, but it made the back plate lighter to handle which is good because there are wires between the two halves. I might have made the stick a little too tensioned now But I know how to do that now, so all's good
