Hi folks (Tim etc.)
I am confused when it comes to all these numbers and electrical terms and have been stairing at my new EMaxx wanting it to be Ready to Run!

I bought 2 7.2(?) venom 4600 mAh 6 cell NiMh batteries and I have the SB 989. I think I set up the charge ok(4 amp charge 0.00 trickle (i read trickle charge is a bad bad thing, right?)), but I dont know what I'm doing with the discharge.

What should my settings be? (I'm trying .9 V(?) cutoff and 2.59 amp I didn't change as it was the default?) At 24 min. into the discharge the mAh is going up. Is that supposed to be what happens?

The most basic and clear explanation for my question will be very appreciated. I consider myself tech-savvy but this battery stuff is just greek to me and I don't want to ruin these good batt.s After scouring the forums and websites I guess I still could use a dummies guide to battery and electrical terminology.

How many times should I auto cycle (once my settings are good to go!) before I can run the truck and have a set of batteries that are at their most efficient?

Thanks a ton.

You can cycle the batteries a few times before you run them to "break them in" and build up the capacities. I would charge, and discharge at 4.6 amps the first few times. After that, you can charge them at 6 amps. You really don't have to worry about discharging them after that. Only if they sit for a while do you really have to worry about cycling them again.
