I am installing a RCV120 on my new Hanger9 P51 ARF.
I want to use a 4 bladed prop. I see you recommended a
APC 15.5x12. Has anyone tried this setup yet. Let me know how it works. Thank you

Unfortunately we do not have any experience with this combination ourselves.

If you decide to try it, we would love to hear how you get on. Just for your information the 15.5x12 should produce a max of 5650 rpm

Best regards
Laurenne

My rcv ran very well. The plane flyies pretty good the first flight. The engine runs very strong. I havent put the cowl on yet. I dont know if the air scoop in the front of cowl is going to be enough air to cool it. How does it work for the 90 rcv?

I don't know yet on my plane. I am planning on putting a fan type thing under the spinner and let it blow air arround in the cowl and then i am going to open up the botton a bit and anything i can. I also plan to open the front part of the cowl where the spinner meets the cowl, well open it up as much as possiable to get air in and out.

that's my plan. hope it helps. Keep me posted on what you do and how it works.

With regard to cooling, you may want to check out the gallery section of our RCV website.

Among other engine / plane combinations one customer has installed a 60SP in a Miss America, whilst another has installed a 90SP in a tightly cowled P-39. Both have either good photos or information on how their engines have been cooled.

See www.rcvengines.com for more details.

I hope this helps

Laurenne
