Well I would not have even adjusted it till after "break in" no pun intended.
Losi should fix that for you since it's never been run.

Why did you tighten it down till it snapped ? You must have felt the nut bottom out ? No need to tighten further ......

Maybe it was defective , but it would take some force to twist that shaft IMO .....

Horizon Hobbies customer service is top notch though and they will probably send you replacement parts .....

Never got to bottoming out, I had to adjust it since Losi left it wayyyyy too loose (ie wont even move forward, ie, nut was loose). In my 17 years of drivign r/c cars and playing with slippers, never has this happened to me. I adjust my RC10's the same way: Tighten till it stops, then loosen 1-2 turns. Then, when I hit dirt, I hold the car and adjust till the gears stop moving, then tighten a bit more.

It's not the 7$ part that pisses me off, it's the fact that I gotta wait another week to run it!!!!!! GRRRR

I'm still calling Losi though come Monday, thanks for the tip!

No DX3! In a way I'm glad. Personally, I would stay off the 2.4GHZ band. It's pretty saturated with all KINDS of interference today. FM has never given me problems, as long as you're careful on the track. PCM is even better.

Another thing, isn't 2.4GHZ digital? No matter what you do, digital always introduces a delay due to the modulation and demodulation during communications. I may be wrong since I'm not ENTIRELY familiar with the communications protocol of these new radios

The shaft that comes out from the tranny, and through the slipper clutch (exactly where you tighten the nut to adjust the clutch)

Wow, never saw that one before. Call Losi and they will send a new one. I had a bad OWB out of the box and called them, I had a new one setting on my porch within a week at no charge. Yeah, it does suck not being able to run it until a replacement comes in.
