Not that we do not want to help you here but you should try and post this question in the electric planes Forum...? I just got my radio working for Helicopters and have never tried to set-up a plane for DX6i...Yet!

Good luck,

Z

Hi All:
Just got a Belt CP and DX6i, have them all set up thanks to the great info on this thread.
Have a question. Flew the heli for the first time today. The responses on the sticks is very touchy. What settings should I use in the Dual rate and Exponential to give me a softer center stick and a responsive full throw.

negative values give your sticks more sensativity around center, positive values make the sticks less sensative around center. What so you have it set at now??

I set my expo for +10 and now I use +15 for aileron and elevator (leave the first row of numbers alone and change the second set to plus numbers for more sensitivity). I do not use any expo for rudder, I like the response to be faster with this control....I have not done anything with dual rate thus far. I do not want to get myself ahead of my little brain...

Thanks brac1960 and Zimatosa:
The info was a big help.
Can't fly now as the wind is very strong. Hopefully I will fly later this evening.
I will play with the Dual Rate after I get the EXPO settings happy. I will post the results so we all can leard.

I ordered a DX7, and I believe it comes with digital servos. I also have a Telebee HH gyro coming. Are they compatible? Should I use the stock ESKY gyros?

Wow a lot of good info in here most of the dumb questions I was going to ask have already been answered, yes that means they have already been asked too. I am new to helis so every question I ask seems dumb. I just recently purchased a dx6i for my B-CP and can't wait to get it. I have had one thing after another trying to get everything to work right. The latest sems to be when I get to half stick everything shuts down and my heli crashes to the ground. and I keep loosing my rudder control, the tail rotor will only spin in one direction. I convinced my wife that I needed a trans and reciever and thought what the hell don't want to buy another so went with Spektrum DX6I and hope that this solves the problem she is getting frustrated seeing $500 sitting on my desk.

hi is it possible to change the control stick inputs or outputs, eg i want the rudder stick to work as the aileron stick and visa versa, i do this on my other controllers by moving wires around, can this be done on the dx6i with out soldering stuff like i usually do cheers

Evening noginblue:
To the best of my knowledge you can not change the stick asignments via the software. I also would be very reluctant to rewire the sticks.

got my dx6i, have one problem, the front servo is acting wierd when i go left or right with the aileron stick the elev ervo goes the same eg left and it goes up and right and it goes down, only moves a small amount with elev stick moved and the aileron servos also move left and right a bit when i move the elev stick up and down, other then that the rudder works great

Photo of the inside of what, the Rx wiring or inside a servo? If you need to know where the wires go hook up the Pitch servo(rear right side looking from back of heli) in 6, Gyro yellow single wire in 5(if applicable), Rudder into gyro and gyro into 4, ESC in 3, Elevator(front servo) into 2, Aileron(right rear on left) into 1....

Hope this helps?

Z

Morning noginblue:
I will try to get time today to get you a picture of the inside of the TX.
For future reference, the DX6i and most DSM type TX's are basicly computers. To change the operation af a joy stick location is usually not as simple as changing a couple of wires. The DX6i is a digital systm, so changing two wires can have odd effects on what happens, from twitchie servos to total failure of the TX. Sorry to say that you will probably have to re-learn to fly.

Have A Great Day
