Looking forward to seeing what PBJTs re-engineering has accomplished tomorrow but this is by no means a kit for a DIY guy with my skills. Allow me to confirm that I have indeed spent $500 for much sillier things but Kamitiro will need to respond to this to avoid a lot of bad word of mouth press over threads like this. Still having fun tho, body looks great my brother! Kinda needs a 4x4 sticker tho

Sorry Tim My intent was not to "bad mouth thread" the kit, but to make public the shortcoming's of the kit. Indeed I do have the skill's to re enginner to suit but not every rc enthousioust has, nor the cash to do so. 500 is alot for a "kit" for an already expensive rc vehicle. My earlyer post was a knee jerk reponse of disapointment.

NO, I DO understand buddy, no worries. I am not impressed either but it ain't over yet so we'll see what they do... These things were hard to get a few weeks ago and reviews were hard to come by, now that more is known people will be watching before they buy. Folks like you and I got to be test mules and if it was my Jeep MT lost to this project I'd be upset(er) but I just finished prepping both of my machines for bashing tomorrow and the 4x4 is just an experiement to us. Granted an expensive one. I would say the "bad mouthing" in this thread is well deserved by Kamitiro at this point but I really hope they step up, we'll see.... Hope you get yours back into shape ASAP my friend

We ran the FG MT 4X4 for about 15 min before the Futaba servo jammed up internally so we did not have a chance to wreck anything Kamitiro Overall the FG 4X4 worked very well. Climbed up the loose sand hill from a dead stop and really did not get stuck. Now what I did notice is that after putting the FG 4x4 away and bring out the 2wd with studded rear tires you really get used to 2wd and if you keep your momentum up you do fine. I guess my impressions are the 4x4 was nice for traction but too afraid of breaking it right now. The 2wd bashed great just as alway. So at this point I am not putting the stock 2wd FG up on the shelf in place of the 4X4 for the Sunday afternoon bash session. Pictures later this evening.

Alright, I am back home and have looked into why the FG MT servo jammed up. It was not the servo it was a frt dogbone came out and jammed into the upright-so it was the 4X4 kit causing the failure today after 15 min run time.

Right frt up right/knuckle

Damage/wear already on out drive cup.

Pinned the frt sproket.

Double thick engine mount stayed straight and did not pull away.

The kit in action was nice but short lived. Truck would crawl up a hill that required speed before.

Not impressed with the kit but 4wd was nice. But 2wd is less complicated and a great basher.

Aw crap, liked it better when I thought it was just a servo... That was some pretty easy driving and my 2wd with studs easily handled the same hills with different driving style. Kinda frustrating but I did like the 4x4 in action for the novelty of it and the ability to get itself out of situations that would strand a 2wd. Turning radius sux tho. We'll see but I'm kinda wishing Kamitiro would respond to this ridiculous situation soon, they can't seriously expect to keep selling these kits if this is what they are like
OOPS seems like somebody signed in on my computer...TIM MT

There, I am me again I am still disappointed in us not getting to run the 4x4 much today cuz it was fun but my studded MT and paddled Marder were just as much fun and only a collision shut me down.

PBJT - In the pic of the pinned sprocket, there is a spacer that Kami put between the bearing and housing because the bearing is too small and those tend to work their way out. It looks like it's starting to move, it should be flush with the plastic.

Vette09-There was a spacer ring on the engine mounted bearing and it came out in the first minute of running and has been glued into place. Is there more spacer rings then the one at the engine? IMO the whole idea of a spacer ring is poor planning to begin with.

I went back and looked at the picture and yes I see what you are talking about. I did notice the frt diff "floats" side to side because the diff is too narrow or the suspension braces are too wide-as you can see this allows the diff bearings to come out a we bit. Just another thing I will have to shim to correct.
