I am really hoping for the best here. This is not a machine we beat on like our MTs and Marders, toooooo delicate so far. The last break was kinda pathetic cuz we were running a Raven ST harder that day

The FG 4X4 Kam. kit worked good today. Put about 1 tank through it now. I noticed the chain is at a point now where it needs to be tightend so I will have to look it over and see if a bearing is out of place or normal 1st real run chain stretch. Over all, we worked the kit in dry and mostly wet sand with no problems. We certianly drive this machine easier right now. Pic of TimMTs machines and our shared FG MT 4X4

Alrighty. I built a custom servo tray to mount and move the 805bb servo over to clear the chain since our shorter futaba servo stripped out. Now I noticed the machine would not hardly turn (even less then its normal pittyfull turning radious) Turns out the frt kamit dog bone pins have come loose and jamming up during a turn causing the steering to thump while turned which feed back and IMO eventually wrecked the futaba servo. So I removed the frt dog bones, cleaned and re tightend the weak set screws and re assembled. Took the machine out to try the new DDM torque pipe and managed a few passes in frt of me on dusty/dirty ashphalt and the right frt wheel drops in and out comes the axle. Well the right frt upper control arm split in two. SO I apoxied and sleeved that and back out only to have a noise developed.....well I have now just stripped the plasitic frt diff gear completely in not 1 but 2 spots On dirt covered ashalt with little traction (but good drifting) I suspect the loose dog bone pins may have caused the servo to strip from the clunking, may have cracked the right upper control arm and the DDM torque pipe (which you must run a tuned pipe for the kit to fit) is to much for the frt plastic gear to handle. Right now I feel like ripping the kit off and tossing it but that will not help!

You can use FG aluminum rear arms for the front of the Kami kit.

Seems like alot of crap to deal with when you buy a product. If it is not working as advertised or designed send it back! Why don't you contact all the people that bought the kit and threaten a law suit, I would be in there like a dirty shirt if I had bought one--GUARANTEED. I feel your pain, just out of curiosity, what is the mfg's wty on the kit?

Sux, really not a great kit imo. Nothing but hassles and tho I enjoyed the 4x4 fun yesterday I would rather a reliable 2wd. Maybe put it away for awhile and rebuild your MT (with the DDM pipe of course ) and we'll wait on some parts for this clunker. Too much work in it now to toss it. Tires for it arrived today so you can have yours back now

Guys, I bought one of the 1st kits that FGBasher sold. After a few issues with the install, I drove it a few times, then sold it. During the first drive, the front sprocket kept coming loose. So I drilled and pinned it and it was fine after that. I didn't have the chain issues yuu guys had, but I did have 1 servo problem during the install. I wanted to use 2 Hitec 5745's, so had to drop them down lower to clear the chain. Once they cleared the chain, everything was fine. I didn't sell it because I was having problems with it, but because I had done everything I could to it and I didn't enjoy it the way I do my on-road 5th scales. I also didn't have it very long, so after seeing all the problems you're having, I sent the guy I sold it to a PM (I sold it in the rcuniverse classifieds) and told him to check out these threads if he's having any issues with it. He hasn't called me with any questions or problems, so maybe everything's OK, but I feel for you guys. You buy something from a reputable company and expect it to be well designed. You shouldn't have to modify a kit to fit into the vehicle it was made for.

I fully expected this kit to install and run as advertised. It has been a disappointing experience as I used a reputable seller and a reputable brand so we had every expectation of success. Nothing else we could have done imo. Kit has hardly been used and yet has failed multiple times. Not ready to toss that much money in the trash so something will need to be done I guess. Not my personality to lawyer up over an issue like this. E-mails have been sent to resolve our concerns and I trust all will be. Meanwhile it was fun to see a 4x4 on one of our trucks, I can definitely see the advantages and differences but this is not the kit for us.

This problem will have a natural consequence for Kamitiro and even unfortunately the folks who sold the kits if not handled well. We all spend way to much on these machines for folks to want to lose business so I am sure there will be a response, even no response will speak volumes to potential customers. I mean really who would buy a Kami 4x4 kit now and they were selling like crazy recently. Not for me to take on the world over this tho, I vote with my wallet. Perhap a solution for these kits is already in the works???

Skyline, that is the first generation 4x4 conversion from KAMI, they also had problems with those. I agree, it looks like it is alot better made.
