I knew you were Gary.

We did allow any plane at one time - as long as it had a 40 on it. Just too much variation in air frames to make it really enjoyable. The real great thing about the "raiders / LA Racers is that the racing is so close. Most times there is about 1 - 2 seconds from 1st place to last place in any heat.

Aren't you flying Q-25 up there with the Thunderbirds / TX Wings / GSW bunch?

finally finished my la racer, i used all stock hardware except for the wood screw it came with, instead i substituted socket head servo screws. I hard a hard time fitting my rossi 45, i had to dremel the hell out of the stock mount, i guess its no biggie, but that to be the most time consuming part, next would be cutting the cowl to a minimum ... Ill will maiden her this saturday with a 9.5x 7 pylon prop

Hey, the 13 was my idea,, It should fly great with the pasta motor, but only figure on 4 minute flights with that little tank, Rossi's are hungry! Keep us updated, what'd you think of the plane, so far? Oh and I like the goat and sides on the pilot too.
Ya know this would qualify you for the revver brotherhood.

Chuck I sent you an email the other day, you get it??

Yes that motor loves fuel, ill have to use a timer, cuz time flys when yur having fun. I think the plane is put together very well, some of the directions are vague, but its no big deal, ive put together many arfs... the covering looks like its gonna give me problems, if i dont seal it with an iron... Is it pretty fast with the LA 40's? Yes i got the 13 from a picture i saw here on the forum If i like the way it flies i might just put one of those LA's or FP's i have lying around.

What is revver brotherhood? ive seen lots of guys with in their sig?

Revver brotherhood,, go to the extreme prop planes section and have Flyboy Dave hook you up!!

I have a FX on mine and its pretty quick, for what it is, Gunfighter says the the Thunder Tiger Pro 40 is the hot ticket for these, as far as racing and the rules go. I have one but haven't put it on yet, I will before my first race. Club 40 racing is more about pilot skill than all out speed.

Chuck,

Ken and I went out to ARCA this morning for a test session and some practice. Jim also came by to mentor us and show off the new start clock. It's nice! The wind was gusting at 25-30 which made it a bit of a challenge, but all went well. I maidened my new Raider and it needed NO trim! I had to dial down the throws a tad, but other than that it was good to go. See ya Saturday!!

Eddie, Chris and I went out this evening for a couple of test / trim flights. All went well till the last flight. Eddie was doing some aerobatics on high rates when we heard what sounded like a brief flutter and the plane went into an unrecoverable spin into the ground. The fuse was shattered. So he is building another plane tonight (second race in a row!)
It actually looks like the fuse broke behind the wing during a wild manouver. It was totally out of control from that point.
Hopoe we have a good turn out Saturday! Lookin' for some fun!
Chuck

Weather looks good so far, last I saw, wind 10mph from the North, 73 degrees and sunny to partly cloudy; mind you that was the weather forcast for Temple/Belton area; I would think Austin's forcast would be similar.

WM is going to have to give Eddie the "consumer of the year" award!! I think he's single-handedly keeping them in business. Can't wait to see y'all and get the season kicked off.

Tim - we talked about buying stock in WM but it may be too late now!

MJ - The plane was a SRM2. We are not sure it broke in flight, that is just a theory at this point. The SRM2 and the LA Racer are both very strong planes more than capable of handling the rigors of raceing and extreem aerobatics.

See every one in the morning! And remember - I am a combat pilot so you better stay out of my way!!!!!
