heres what i have one gallon, 5%nitro 18% total oil. of the oil, 80% is synthetic and 20% is castor. i have 8 OZ of medical castor that im going to add, what will that make the oil percentages?
pe reivers -> RE: oil percentages... (3/1/2008 11:38:09 PM)
one gallon is 128 ounces 18% is 0.18x128=23.04 ounces add 8 ounces, so now you have 31.04 ounces in 136 ounces of fuel 31.04/136=0.23 0.23x100%=23%
thats some heavy math[X(] what i need to know, is what total percent is castor? reason im asking is i need to know that there is enough for this 'ol fox here.
To carry on from Pe's figures (thanks Pe :)), the original fuel had 23.05 ounces oil of which 20% (1/5th) was castor so 23.04/5=4.608 ounces of castor and 18.432 ounces of synthetic. Add 8 ounces so now there's 12.608 ounces of castor in a total of 31.04 ounces of oil. Castor content of the oil is 40.62%.
I assume from your last post that it's to be used in an old Fox? If it's a Fox 35 then it's still no where near enough castor. The correct fuel for them is 29% all castor.

No Sir. its a old 46.
id like to have some of fox's fuel 5% nitro and 20% casotor. but it just cost too much. its cheaper to buy castor adn add it. thank you for your math :)
Timmer at the Toledo show i was buying 10% Nitro and 20% Castor from Fox for $10.00 a gallon. It's way cheaper from the Toledo show than at their website.
