I just bought an xyz 50 for my 74 yak extreme flight, ran i 2 times last last night, seems to have great power, maybe too much for this little plane,we will see, throttlemanagement will definitely be a must!!!

I had the chance to maiden mine last week… you’ll be happy with this combo. It will hovers at less than half of throttle input… and will pull vertical with out any problem.

Greg…

I’m running a Xoar “the sword” 20x10 prop. I’m getting around 6400… running rich. I didn’t want to play around with the engine’s settings too much since I’m new to gasser. As for the batteries… I’m using NoBS Elite 2000 pack… 4 cell for the ignition and 5 cell on the receiver. Attached are some pics of my setup. (Note: 5 cell pack is under rudder servo.) Hope this helps...

Dennis

low speed idle is still sluggish... getting around 2300 on the tech. i'm pretty sure i'm running very rich. I only have 6 tanks through it so far. I'll be playing with the setting this weekend.

I am still here Dan, left you an email !

Spent the past 3 days dealing with a CPU virus,
had to get a brand new computer.
Using the wife's laptop until I get it setup.

xyzusa,

I just bought the CMPro Gile 202 140 V2 and I am considering putting the xyz26 on it.What kind of proformance can I expect. I would like some vertical but nothing extreme. I fly mostly pattern.

JRAllen,

I had my XYZ26cc on the Phoenix models extra 330...That plane weighed about 9 lbs. I was still in the break in period before I sold it but on a 9 lb plane it had no vertical. I fly somewhere around the 5000ft above sea level mark. IT would prolly pull your Giles around but I would say there would be no vertical pull on a straight up line.

I would seriously consider getting the 50cc instead. It has quite a bit more power but not so much that you are going to rip the firewall off. If you read back thru this thread, you will see the talk about the 50cc going on the Extreme Flight Yak. THat plane is roughly about the size of the CMP Giles you have. I would still reinforce the firewall of the CMP giles regardless of what engine you get...

Hope this helps
