I had my first crash today, so thankfully I have gotten that behind me. I was flying my 40 size GP RV-4 today and I on the 4th flight today I was pulling a loop and seemed to act a little funny but I took it as getting caught in a little breeze, then about 30 seconds later I was doing a roll and it seemed very slow on the roll and then I started thinking I might have an aileron disconnected from the servo, so I start to bring it around to land and then it was hit and miss on responding to my inputs, I almost had it back in but while making the final turn in just turned right into the ground. I was in full flaps so it was slow and it hit wing tip first before crashing in. Thankfully all the damage was the wing breaking at the joint where it is epoxied together and the piece in the fuselage that the wing mounts together. It appeared my radio was it but I am using a DX7 and there was only one other plane up so I don’t think that was the case unless it was just general 2.4 GHZ interference? When I recovered the plane I did notice the smaller antenna from the AR 7000 receiver had come unplugged.. If it happened during the flight would that have caused the erratic behavior of the plane? I have read the 2.4 GHz is somewhat directional hence the two sets of antennas on them. I also did get a good inflight video of the crash but the camera was facing aft.
