I several of the HL S&S german tanks and am very pleased with them. The S&S are the ones with the smoke and sound features also have porportional speeds opposed to the non S&S one with just 2 speeds. For their price they are a good buy. If you want to build one from a kit then the tamiya tanks are the way to go. They are more expensive but still good tanks, it all comes down to how much you want to spend and do you want it to run out of the box or build it.

They're not toys. They are actual mini representation of the real thing, right down to reliability. Part of any RC tankers kit are a soldering iron and plenty of spare parts. They are addictive, nobody owns just one. If you like the Tiger, go ahead and buy it. If you think it's a hobby you'll stick with, don't skimp on the $63 tank, get the ones with metal tracks and gearboxes.

Thanks people all replys are very much apreciated

maybe you have some more insight

1-The Tigers that are airsoft with smoke /sound are only available at online places like Raiden Tech,,Bannana sports, hobbytron,,,When I call thses places I never get an answer,,they never call back,,and they have a no refund policy,,,Im wondering if these are good firms to deal with,,also I noticed that alot of the sites actually have the same ph number has other sites,,why,, seems a little fishy.

2-Can someone recomend a good shop, site, where they have quality rc tanks Im really liking the airsoft feature,,Im looking at $150-$200 for my entry and If I really get into it more latter on.

3-when you mention "HEN LONG",,,,is that a style or is it a certain manufacturer and where can I get one

thnks for any info

Hello happy hooker,
1/16 scale Heng Long (thats the manufacturer) are one of the most popular brand and scale tanks here on the forum.
You have a lot of choices in Brands, scale, and price. For a starting point you can't go wrong with a standard out of the box HL Smoke and Sound tank.Radintec is a place I have bought several tanks from and never had any problem ordering on line from them. For your location it will cost you somewhere around $85.00 dollars with shipping for most of the models of HL they sell.A lot of the bigger on-line seller's have still not gotten restocked after christmas, but most of the models are still avaible.Like swathdiver said most people on the forum just don't have one tank, although everyone has to start with their first one. There is a lot of information to be had here on the forum, just look around and ask questions.Just so you know, you are not in the main forum you are in the war room.
The main forum is where you will get more and faster responses to your questions. Reguards BIGMIG

Raidentech is a bit of pain to get on the phone, but they deal with on-line orders quickly and their prices are very good. Had to return a couple of dead tanks to them, and although it took forever to get RMAs on phone, they didn't make any big deal of making the replacement. They'll also give you a refund (less 15% or so -- and shipping) if that's what you want.

I've bought Panthers and a Tiger from them -- for well under $100 shipped.
