Hey Scott,
I'm building one right now too. I'm has been slightly modified to look like a p-51B: retracts, new tail, shape, and bomb drops. I'll post some pics later tonight. I just started covering mine this past weekend! Good luck with yours!

Matt

That sounds cool, something differant. What happend to my last post from last nite, its not here? Ohwell Ill ask again. Ive just about have my right wing panel comeplete, I just need to hinge it and that comes later, I used CA glue to put it together, and Ive found that I really dont like CA glue. Im about to start the left wing panel, can I use wood glue on it? or do I need to match the other side with CA? Im just curios if it would make a differance or not.

Combatbuff,
You're not too far away from where my mom lives. She live in Sedalia!!!

I'm not in Ca. I live in Southwest Oklahoma. But yes, too much rain here in the last few days!!

I think it would be better for you to use the same glue on both sides, Scott. Less weight difference.

Thanks Norfolksouthern, I havent been on the build in about a week now becouse of long hrs at work, but hopeing to get on it soon. My internet got shutoff at home so im only going to check in here every few days when I come to visit my mother and use her computer. I do have one question, owhen I go to bevile the aliron, Do I bevile the trailing edge of of the wing aswell? or do I leave it flat? where the aliron mounts to the wing?

Bevel where the leading edge of the aileron, where it hinges to the wing. However, you want to preserve the shape of the airfoil. So, the trailing edge of the wing will need to be sanded on the top and bottom, so the slope will smoothly transition to the aileron and the wind will flow over that smoothly. You could hinge the aileron, and temporarily attach it to the wing (using the hinges, without glue just the way most ARFs come). Then, sand the top and bottom of the trailing edge to match the slope.

My recommendation is to build your 'Poke strong - lots of glue and reinforcements to join the wing bits together. Don't worry too much about the weight, these things float due to the large wing area. But take my advice - stick the biggest ploddiest 4-stroke engine you can find in the nose, if you go for a small 2-stroke the buzzing will just anoy the hell out of you and you will have to subsidise it with a slab of lead anyway.
I stuck an RCV .91 in mine and I love it! See it in the old 'Pokers thread below.
