Unfortunately I will have to ask someone else, I didn’t get to see what happened to my plane either. By the way Randy did a good job with his dead stick landing though.

What's goin' on, guys? Where are all of the Spoiler guys at? It would be great to see some of the guys from the home team supporting the contest. You guys are a fountain of info that would be helpful for some of the new Spoiler enthusiasts.

Hi Folks,

Hav'nt been posting for a while. Have not been able to do much with my models lately due spending time on some work projects and getting my daughter married off. Don't really have a color scheme to offer, however I'm building a back up Spoiler, "because Randy knows I never tear up a plane". I'm going to steal someone elses scheme that I really like. It is a scheme that is on a HOT HOTs featured on the cover RCM. I think it was the January 2002 issue. I'll post a pic when the plane is done but it might be a month yet as I'm also plans building a replacement Hots for the one I have... HAD... until mid summer last year. I'm going to use the same scheme on both planes. Just finished an RV 4 kit last Sunday.

BTW: Can anyone tell me how to post a pic of my Spoiler to my avitar. I tried the other night but the system states, my file is to large. I would like to copy one over from my gallery if that is possible, if not I have it saved on my computer at home. I'm at work now.

You have to resize it down to 7kb for the avitar

Touche'! I know I know.. Hey guys, got a few questions for ya'.

1.) What seems to be the best Engine setup for the Spoiler for Power Vs. Weight

2.) What servos are you guys using that work the best.

Most of us are running OS 160's with a macs long header and either a mousee can muffler or a bud beer bottle muffler. We also run an 18x6 Zoar prop.
I am using Futaba s3010's on the alerions and Futaba s3305's on the rudder and elevators.
Have had no problems with this setup

what yellow dog said is good. more servo is better but i have 3010's on ailerons and elevators too and it's working. a 120 OS will get the job done but a 160 is the way to go.

Hi everyone. Well me and RVator got to fly again this morning. It started out with a gentle wind that grew into a tempest. Finally had to put my stuff away. I didn't take the BB today as I wanted to get used to a more touchy flyer so I took my funtana 40. You all are discussing engines and I have a YS 110 on mine and it has plenty of power. I wonder how it compares with a OS 160? Im not bold enough to try any low alt. hovers but up high it seems to be plenty strong and pulls out fine.

suitcase, a lot depends on your flying style but the spoiler has a larger side area and weighs more than the JBB, the YS 110 will fly it but not the way it was designed to fly. the spoiler is happy just floating around but can do so much more. we need some video of jerry smith, spoilerman , Tim G, Nogyro, myself and a few other so you can see what this baby can do with a bunch of horse power and a bad attitude.

Chris,

I use the following, (all analog), and everything works great.

One HS645MG Hitec on the rudder.

One HS422 Standard Hitec on the throttle.

Two HS625MG Hitecs on the Elevator.

Four HS635HB Hitec carbonite on the ailerons.

Engine is an OS160 on 15/18 Wildcat fuel.

Propeller is 18 X 6 Zoar.
