Just wanted to let you guys know...I just completed building and maidening the brand new Hyperion Helios 63e and 10e planes. Both are fantastic flyers. Both of them are superb flyers, and really excellent planes.

Hello

I really would like to read about your experiences with the Helios 63e. It's a pity that the site your review resides on won't let me unless I register. Also the direct link provided don't work. The review can be found under "Highwire/Non foamy electric".

Best regards - Paul

I just posted a video up too of the Helios flying around on the build thread. Im going to try to get video of a sportsman sequence soon too.
The plane flys great. Ive got no complaints. I would repost it over here, but the build thread is 10 pages long.

If you are interested in the plane its worth the effort to read the thread. There is very detailed information in the thread about the 10e and the 63e sized Helios planes, and tons of pictures.

I have the smaller one and love it. How is the larger one compared to it? This arf has got to be one of the cleanest builds I have ever done. I'm surprised not to hear to much on the Helios which I feel is a nice plane all around. Thanks

Phillip, your not the only one.
The 63e is FANTASTIC!

The 10e is really nice, but the 63e is even better.

Here are a bunch of pics of the 63e. I modified the canopy latch as shown in the picture. I used a plastic exit guide and a wheel collet to make the latch easier to use.

I think the Helios is one of the best ARF's Ive seen. The covering is flawless, the build is strong, and lightweight. The motor package is perfect for it, and with the recommended Hyperion motor it truely has unlimited vertical performance. It will climb straight up rolling...and just keep going and going and going.
The plane flys very smoothly and crisply on rolls, and makes nice round radiused corners mainly due to the airfoiled stabs. Tracks like its on rails. The landing gear in the Helios 63e is strong. 1/2" carbon wing tube spar, nylon thumb screws for mounting the wings. Pre-glued incidence pins in the wings.
Ball link hardware. BIG battery tray, located dead center on the thrust line to make sure the plane stays neutral in the air. Firewall was pre-drilled for the hyperion motor. The Canopy is tinted, and has both magnets, and a strong spring-loaded latch. Fiberglass Cowl is pre-cut for ventilation, and its more than enough ventilation, as nothing in the plane even remotely gets warm. Tends to land same temps as it took off.

I do recommend getting the hyperion servos with it. It will just make your life easier for the install.

The 63e is just awesome.

Someone at Hyperion was paying attention, and really truely designed this thing with everything I could possibly want in the plane. It is TOP NOTCH quality. Worth every cent! And when I say the covering is flawless...I mean flawless. It looks like a expensive glass pattern plane, and Ive even had people ask me if it was glassed.

I think the latch is sweet the way you did it. I have to agree with you on how I recieved the smaller one, it was a fantastic build. I fly it in parks and just love it. A very sturdy plane considering its weight. Thanks for the pics. Phil

Hi,

Just passed 100 flights on my modified Helios 10E. I`ve been using it for Pattern training. Pulls nicely through the P-09 Program (FAI).Nice flier in this size.

Mod`s : longer fuselage. shorter and narrow ailerons. different shape of horizontal / vertical - stab with smaller rudder / elevator.
