Would you be interested in posting hem to the Tachometer readings section. I myself have posted several of my engines there?http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tt.asp?forumid=173

The only problem with posting tach readings is that quite often people don't mention the numerous other factors which affect RPMs.

Prop brand, nitro %, altitude, temperature, humidity, oil percentage, oil type, etc.

For example, my TT46Pro will turn a 12x4 prop at anywhere from 13,000 RPMs to 14,400 RPMs depending on a variety of those factors.

Even using an APC12x4 and fuel with 5% nitro I can get a 600RPM difference simply by changing the type/percentage of oil and depending on whether it's a hot or a cold day.

To be meaningful, these figures have to include all the variables without that they're of little value.

Understood. I try to include all the variables to include plug, prop, fuel, etc.

I have an odd one for ya...

I have a Twist 40 with a TT PRo 46 in it. It took off this morning (I even leaned it a couple of clicks) and flew beautifully, then dead-sticked, or so I thought. I hollered "Dead-Stick" and as the plane came over the fence, my buddy said that the engine was indeed running, but it wouldn't respond to throttle. It was just running slow (and rich). After killing the engine, we found that the needle valve was totally missing!! [sm=72_72.gif].

I went to the TH website to order parts, but apparently they don't carry the TT Parts any more. At this point, I'm not sure if I need just the needle valve, or the needle valve body too (I have the part numbers).

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase TT Pro parts on line? It's hard for me to get to a phone at work, so if you know of a site like TH or HH that has the individual parts listed, with photos, I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks,

Bob

You can order Thunder Tiger parts online from:

www.thundertiger4u.com

www.infinitehobbies.com

www.ehobbies.com

If you need to look up part numbers, the engine manual is available online at www.acehobby.com and also at www.thundertiger4u.com

http://www.acehobby.com/ace/PDF/Engine/PRO_Eng.pdf

You might also visit www.paulsmodelsupply.com and give Paul a call if you get the chance. Paul is very knowledgable and easy to work with.

I have personally purchased Thunder Tiger parts and products from all of the above.

Good luck and good shopping!

Thanks a lot! I'd never heard of Thundertiger4U, but they had what I needed... I appreciate the tip!

Bob

thundertiger4u is really easy to deal with. Great news club members, I picked up a nice GP42 for a very reasonable sum . I am using it as a test mule for minor porting job on another thread, they really respond well to a little port work.
