Last weekend I visited a private collection and museum in Bologna: the 'Museo Memoriale della Libertà ' (Memorial Museum of Freedom) and the Ansaloni collection (from the name of the owner) of vehicles. The museum is made of 5 historical lifesize dioramas, with multimedia light and sound effects, depicting events from the II WW in Italy, all buildt with original uniforms, weapons and vehicles. For a description in English you can go here: http://www.museomemoriale.com/Home_ameri.html Apart from that, there is a collection of vehicles, most of which are kept in running order, as well as remains from shot down allied and axis airplanes recovered around Bologna, and much more. I took some pictures from the armored vehicles. The shown Sherman (a running one) is the one used in the final scenes of 'Life is beautiful' with Roberto Benigni. If you ever pass by Bologna, plan to spend an hour there: the museum is rather unique in its genre and is worth visiting.
