Status: offline 		Just received the TM-14 TX module and R6014FS receiver for my 14mz.

Well try and get this to work. Instructions are pathetic and all that is said is that you need to get updated software. Not where, how, anything. So tried the Futaba website, downloaded the zipped file which I now cannot get unzipped It appears that there are errors in the download.

Not even the distributors know what to do.

With this type of investment surely a CD included with the module with full instructions would not be a bad idea. Why make customers download stuff that doesn't even work and how could I trust that the downloaded stuff is even OK.

I have many high value turbine and large scale aerobatic aircraft that I would like to use 2.4 on but how can I trust any of this actually working. Until this becomes a bit of a less hit and miss affair I am sticking to my 35mhz module, and giving this back to the supplier I am afraid.

Status: offline 		Unfortunately, we'd not know how to help you. We can point you to the North American software, but it's likely it won't help you one bit, unless you have North American frequency modules. You'll have to re-download the software and see how it comes out. The order and layering of the files and directories is critical, and you can't just unzip them. This FAQ describes how to download the software and how it should be put onto the memory card:

Hope that helps. That's usually why updates fail...the file hierarchy isn't correct.

I am in the same situation as "In The Haze" but I recently bought a 12FGA 72Mhz version and recently purchasd a TM-14 2.4Ghz Module and reciever. I did down load the update the files for the 12FG. Do I also need to down load the 14MZ update file and install the file into the 12FG, or will the Update file for the 12FG recognize he TM-14 Module correctly??

Status: offline 		If you have a 12 FG, you download the latest 12 FG software, and it will accomodate the TM-14 module. You only need to download the newer software if your transmitter will not recognize the TM-14 module. After the update, it will.

Done, and it works. I am impressed, that link mentioned the hidden little switch next to the SD card slot which lets the TX boot up from the card. That's what I was missing all the time.

Status: offline 		A question for Bill Baxter of FUTABA:

I just received the TM-14 TX module and R6014FS receiver for my 12Z and I have downloaded and unzipped the update for 12Z found on the FUTABA web site.

Has anyone out there installed the TM-14 TX module in a 12Z radio? The 14mz instructions on the FUTABA 14MZ web site are quite clear but I have not been able to find similar instructions on the FUTABA web site for installing the 2.4 module in a 12Z.

The only instructions in the 12Z download refer to differences in opperation of the radio once the update and module are installed. The 12Z update download files are quite different than those for the 14MZ and 12FG.

The 12Z download only contained the "UPDATE" file that contains the"0" file containing two ".cde" files, five ".bin files" and one ".cde" file. It does not contain a ".dat" file or an ".exe" file as was discussed in the 14MZ and 12FG update downloads. Are the .dat and .exe files missing or simply not required for the 12Z update?

I would appreciate a more detailed set of instructions for the 12Z update download and installation equivalent to the one available for the 14MZ.

Are the 12Z update download files really complete? If they are complete how does the process work without a .dat or .exe file? If they are not complete where can I obtain a complete set of files?

Status: offline 		We don't have a specific instruction file for the 12 Z. You organize the files in a similar manner to the 14 MZ, and it works. Don't worry about file the 14 MZ has and the 12 Z doesn't. There are differences in the transmitters.

Status: offline 		The T12Z update went smooth. All I needed was a little nudge. . I am ready to install the 2.4MHz receiver in my 42% Extra 260 and go fly. But I have one more question.

Are there any recommended servo assignment changes for fixed wing aircraft? The T12Z software update recommended helicopter channel assignment changes but none for fixed wing. Will the R6014FS FASST receiver be OK with the following servo assignments?

Elevator 1 & 2, Rudder 3 & 9, Left Aileron 4 & 7, Right Aileron 5 & 8, Throttle 6, Engine choke 11.

Status: offline 		When you set up an airplane, the transmitter will have the optimum channel assignments. Just use those.

The newer software has altered channel assignments that help heli fliers.

Status: offline 		Please can anyone tell me if you fit a 2.4g module in a 14mz and update the software then remove it and put back you 35mhz (UK) module 72mhz in states ?
does it recognise the change back to 35/72 mhz

Status: offline 		If you use a module puchased in the U.K., you will have no difficulties. If you purchase a module from outside of the U.K., all bets are off. The modules are region-coded, and won't work if you have a mis-match. If you have a U.K. 35 MHz module, and a U.K. 2.4 GHz FASST module, you can just interchange them any time you desire. The same is true for a North American 72 MHz module and a North American 2.4 GHz FASST module and a North American transmitter. The modules can be swapped in and out to your heart's desire.

i may get one in a while when they have been out some time just in case there are any problems which i dont expect there will be.
still got lots of 35 mhz recievers which i dont have problems with unless i put them in electric powered craft be it helis or planes .
I now use a spektrum set for all electric stuff which has been flawless on the interference side of things

One thing:

I leave in Europe, and I have 14MZ with a TM14 2.4GHZ TX module working on it, and also I can change back to the original 35Mhz TX Module to play with 35Mhz receivers that I still have.

But can I buy a new R608FS receiver in US and work with it, with my TM14 2.4Ghz TX module bought in Europe?

Status: offline 		The R608FS receiver will work with your transmitter. Receivers are not region-coded, so a receiver purchased in one country will work anywhere else in the world.
