If you look around I'm sure you can find a picture of Snoopy flying his doghouse. I think the plans may have been in RCM back in the 70s.

Find someone through a local club with a buddy box setup. That way if you in trouble the instructor can take over.

LOL over the double piper! I never expected that! Awesome. There's some great stuff posted. I'm debating now, ordering the flying lawnmower kit from flyingthingzs, even though I still don't have my stop signs plans yet..

I've also really been drawn to those UAV drones.

So many planes! So little time!

So you want "Strange" aircraft. Here is one for you. It is a Transavia PL-12 Airtruk (and the spelling is correct). It was a New Zealand crop duster and even starred in a movie. Can you guess the name of the movie ?

I used to see these AIRTRUK flying quite regular around the hill country farms in the late 80s..noisy beasts but they got the job done...I have no idea what movie it featured in.

Cheers, Bill

To each his own. It's a VMAR SU27. The thread is here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4791170/tm.htm

RCKen, you are correct on the movies - specifically at the end of Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.

If you are interested, send me an e-mail. I have a set of CAD plans for the plane as well as some documentation. The plans are for a 40 - 46 engine, 58" wingspan. Just pay for the copying and postage. The plans are setup for BlueBird BMS 380mg servos (6 in the wing plus the fuselage servos).

You need to be aware that you will need to fly from and land on a paved runway. The short distance between the nose wheel and the mains makes flying from a grass field almost impossible without the plane flipping over on the takeoff run. Also, for landing you will need to use flaps and come in nose high (just below a stall), again, to avoid flipping the plane over.

In the air the plane is very stable and handles like a cross between a trainer and a sport plane.
