Well finally got my kit, what a beauty!! even the way its packaged is incredible.. Just started the build tonight and its moving right along...anyone looking for a large scale bipe, this is your kit ; look no further!!
Great job dany, absolutely a beautiful airplane kit...well back to building.

Status: offline 		Hey Guys, curious how the Genesis WACO compares to the Balsa USA 1/3 Stearman or the Proctor WACO as far as building, extra work to complete? From looking at the different sites it seems like the Stearman is a more complete kit(wires, wheels, axles, etc) How does it build compared to the G WACO? Has anybody had experience with the Proctor WACO? A good friend of mine in our club is going to have me build one of these with the 215 on the front. I'm a scratchbuilder so working with all the pieces is no big deal, just curious how they go together. Anybody know of any sites that have a follow along with someone building one like this thread? Thanks for any help.

I can't really speak as to the Stearman, but typically Balsa USA builds great kits. As for the Waco, first let me say that Proctor DOES NOT build the kit, they only import it. Peter Barth actually builds it. I have several friends that have one of his planes and while its not my place down talk anyones product, their seem to be quite a few problems with it, (mostly getting one. I understand the wait is @ 6-8 months ) Additionally there are some gear and fiberglass issues. This is not to say with some dedicated work you can't produce quite a plane. Now with that said the Genesis is head and shoulders above the Barth kit!!! It builds much faster, easier and comes with almost everything you need, we all like to pick our own wheels and wires anyway. Probably the most important advantage of the Genesis over the Barth, is Dany Recine(owner) he seems to be available at our beckoned call to answer questions....All I can say is my kit is beautiful

Status: online 		Just recived my Peter Barth Waco from Proctor. First let me say this. It is a very well done kit. The fiberglass parts (many) are some of the best I have ever seen. The pre-built tail wheel is a work of art. Wood is of the best quialty bar none. 99% of the wood parts are hand sanded and are spot on to the plans. 23 bages of parts including all flying wires turn buckels etc unlike the other kit mentioned in this post. This kit is built to a much higher degree of scale detail while the other kit is just a stand-off scale. Barth kit is not as pre-fabed as the Geneis kit is that is for sure. Barth kit will take more time to build but you will end up with a much more scale like Waco in my opion.
So it is up to you to decide what you want in either of these fine kits ...If you want to spend more money and get a very easy to build kit the go with the Genesis kit. If you want to spend far les money and build a more scale kit with ALL the hardware included then go with the Barth kit.
I forgot to mention the alerions in the Barth kit ar all pre built and even have rivit detail as well as rib detail on the fiberglass covers they are built with. Barth kit also has a fiberglass wing fairings to go where the bottom wings connect with the Fuse. This would be a very hard piece to do in wood. Wheel pants art glass as well. Rudder and eleavators are all ball bearing attached. If you have any building experiance and can read blue prints the this Barth kit is a pure joy to work on. I'm really impressed with this kit and all the fine workmanship as well as the over 1000 parts included. This is a builders kit that will stand out at any field and has won several contest around the world. I'm not sure you can say that about the other kit.

Status: offline 		That's IT? It's gonna be 2008 in a few days, so this thread hasn't been written in by pushrod02 in 4 years! I'm dying to hear how his 1/3rd scale Genesis came out. Despite what SoCalSal said above, I've done some research and the Genesis is nothing short of AMAZING in it's scale detail AND its simplicity. At least, now in 2007 it is.

You're doing a great job on that. The wings and Horizontal Stabs must unplug for transportation and storage? And what kind of radial motor is that bolted up to the nose? Have you got a lot of hours into it? That tailwheel gear looks like it means business. I've heard the landing gear on these is second to none.

I have had my Waco done for a year now and it flies great. With the 215 radial up front it has plenty of power and the sound is awsome. Flight chacteristics are much like a big trainer, very predictable and will float forever on landings. Here are a few pics of mine:

Is that a Genisis 33% ? FANTASTIC color theme, this is the first one that has made me think about something other than Red trim.

Is Perkasie anywhere near Lancaster?
