The Tri-County Barnstormers, In New Waverly, Tx. have approved Club 40, and Q25 racing for this season. At the moment we are going to have a Demo/ Meet and Greet day in May. skull1971 -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (4/5/2008 2:26:07 AM)

Ok some of you have asked for info, and this is what I have at the moment,

May 10th will be a Club 40 - Q25, Demo / Racer Family Fun Day. We will have 2 pole 450ft , up all day for everyone to fly, and if enough people request it 3 pole long course can be put up. We will have lunch for everyone, till we run out of burgers and hot dogs. RV's ok, but no hook ups. Even if you don't have a "Race plane" bring your 40 size sport plane and come and play. Bring your own fuel.

August 2nd will be a regular Club 40 and Q25 races. All Texas rules will be in effect for both classes, we will have a novice class C-40 if we have enough racers.

Eric,

Can ya tell us about the runway? Grass, paved, length, etc. Thx!

Tim

skull1971 -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (4/7/2008 11:19:39 PM)

It's listed as 600x150 grass, 40 acres of land. I like it better than paved, it's like golf course grass (Fairway), I have been know to walk around bare foot during the summer. I have flown Q25, 424, 428, Club 40, and sport planes off it. Our web site is changing right now, as soon as they get it figured out I'll get the info up.

Jim Duda -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (4/8/2008 12:31:24 AM)

Fearless FXrsTim might bring his Nellie Q500 Monster Motor strapped to his new Viper to get some Hot Laps in...

Do the guys that fly Q25, 424, and 428 use the "Pizza Cutter" wheels on your field? Any problems with them cutting through the grass?

Looking forward to meeting you and your friends in Seguin, TX May 3rd.

skull1971 -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (4/8/2008 12:46:25 AM)

Yes we do use the "Pizza cutter" wheels. the grass is cut short enough we don't have to much trouble. We just use hi rates for take off and jerk them off the ground, then switch to low. We use the Jett BB, and NB wheels.

Well foo,, you can't see any of our wheels. the white is a 424, the 2 reds are 428's

skull1971 -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (5/11/2008 11:39:40 PM)

Well we had our Pylon Day at the Tri-County Barnstormers, in New Waverly TX, yesterday, and I'd like to thank everyone for coming out. With it being Mother's Day weekend and the price of gas, we still had a pretty good turn out, we had maybe 20 people and about 10 pilots. The Barnstormers got a good warm-up for the upcoming Club 40 race on August 2.

I'd like to thank Chuck Waller, for all your help, and just for making the trip to be with us. Also the guys from Houston Sport Flyers, and Mike Funk for the great 428, 422 show. Gene Hodges came all the way down from Ft. Worth just to fly Q25 with us, Thanks Gene!! One of the neatest things of the day, Jezmo has a little, I think, Super Tiger .51, that runs on gas!! I didn't get a picture of it, but maybe we can get him on here to talk about it. It also wouldn't give up an inch to our LA Racers around the pylons.

Again THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Pylon Family Day, there are going to be pictures of the event on our site soon, so visit our site, and enjoy. See everyone at the races!!

gunfighter -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (5/12/2008 1:47:01 AM)

Thanks to the Tri County Barnstormers for a fun day! Great food and the facility is FIRST RATE!

It was a lot of fun running all the classes together. At one time, we had Q-25, 424 and Club 40 planes all flying the same heat! I was surprised to see my Q-25 viper keeping up with the 424 planes!

We also had the first heat I have seen that had 5 LA Racers flying at the same time! That was a great race!! I think we ran 30+ laps before I ran out of fuel.

Mike Funk flew his "worn out" motor on his 428 plane. It was still very fast! Also flew his Miss Ashley (422) and made every one take notice!

Thanks again Eric for a fun day!

Jezmo -> RE: Club 40/Q25 Racing in SE Texas (5/12/2008 4:05:47 PM)

As Chuck said, fun day, ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS FACILITY, and great food. Thanks Eric for a fantastic day and thank all of your members for letting us have the Demo Day.
