The prop I'm using on the Power 25 is an APC 12x8E and I'm running 2 TP 2070 extreme V1's parallel. I haven't fully checked out my newest TP 2070 to make sure it wasn't one of the lemons. I need to put it on my T-Rex and go fly to see.

Again, I love this Texan!

Great job on the review Greg! Wait until you get to the fight test, you'll have a grin from ear to ear

God Bless All,

Jay

Just my thoughts... make sure those 81's are MG(metal gear). You will be putting a chunk of lead in the nose with the 25, may want to think 32. There's a thread on another Group that amy are using this motor and no nose weight. If you fly smaller airplanes than the Texan you can use two 3s 2200 mah batteries in parallel for the same cost as one 4200 mah battery and split them up for the smaller planes.

Everything looks good, I can't think of other things except other things like different hardware. Collars and such are just bad and can't be trusted, at least on my first run T-6. Later version may have better hardware. Do you have a LHS near by?

Weight issues are always a concern on planes. I took this into account when planning my T-6. I decided to go with 2 TP 2070, it fit for me because I use then separately on other planes, the weight is 12.1 ounces for both and add .6 ounces for the Y harness. Side by side these packs fit perfectly in the nose of the Texan. The weight of the TP 4200 is 10 ounces, a little lighter, but you'll need to add more weight to get it balanced. I had to put 3.3 ounces of lead on the firewall with my set-up to balance @ 4 1/8 inches behind the wheel well. The AUW on my Texan is 4#8.6 ounces.

So is there some weight included with the kit for nose weight?

triboyeric,

No, not really because those are standard size servos. You should use a micro servo which is half the size and weight.

The assembly work really begins with the cowl. You first cut away the center section and then the areas between the mock cylinders for air cooling. I used a hobby knife with a fresh blade. The dummy radial engine is then glued inside the fiberglass cowl with epoxy.

To mark the mounting holes on the cowl, I cut an index card into four pieces and taped them to the fuselage after first making a 1/8" hole in one end. The cowl is then fit into position and marked for drilling once you get it properly aligned.

The result is a great looking front end with little effort.
