I need some advice. Plane is an AW Extra 260 50 cc with DA50 and MTW-TDH75 canister. Instructions in 50cc manual show another canister that must be somehwat shorter than the TDH75 rear exit, so in the manual the exhaust tip exits one "bay" less / towards the nose (gear) than what I am going to have to use for this canister.

The canister I have stops just a 1/4 inch past the second former with the tip extending from there (see photos). What I need to know is how much do I need to seal formers / horizontal radio component platforms / trays to prevent heat from permeating thru the fuselage ?

And what do I do with the second "bay" where the exhaust tip exits. It does not extend down to outside of the fuselage, it comes close and you can see from the pencil that I used to demo the angle just how it is situated. Do I just cover over the bay containing the can and leave the rear bay open ? Do I need to seal the lower section of that rear former ?

I installed the baffle that came with the kit behind the middle former and cut out the hole for the end of the can to protrude through (about 1/4 inch) but I have a feeling that was not right as this now would impede air flow to the open rear bay. I think if I cover over the forward bay then I need to take that baffle off to let air flow through to the exhaust compartment.

In the manual they also put a baffle on the top side of the servo and battery tray. Can I do the same here and let the air flow down around the can and out the rear bay ?

Sorry for all the questions, I would really appreciate any advice from those who know the can and have a similar configuration.

Bill
