Status: offline 		Hi guys, I'm over in the gas boat forum but in need of help with a 3pm Futaba Fasst radio. I built my boat last summer and have been using 4aa cellls for the receiver. I recently looked closely at the manual and see that this is a no no as the radio needs 6v. I looked at tower hobby and found a futaba 5 cell hump pack FUTM1200 or NR5U5O that will work. I'm concerned about the rating it says 6v 50mah. I don't know if this is correct as all others I saw said 600, 1200, etc mah. 50 seems low. My receiver is a 603ff Fasst. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Status: offline 		Hi brian, the mha refer to battery capacity, one rating 1200mha will have a much higher/longer lasting than a 50mha. The number of cells will give you the voltage you need, only need to multiply by the number of cells. Our radio rechargable batts are 1.2v (niCads or NImetal)
Most of today´s rx units will handle 6v no problems, I only use 6v on my planes, and usually like the 1250 - 1500 mha range that gives good flight time and ok weight in my set up.

Status: offline 		Thanks, I just don't understand why a Futaba 6v 5 cell pack would be listed at 50mah. Most others I saw went from 600-1500. If I understand correctly the 50mah would give much less usage time. But with a 1/4 digital servo and stf ht servo that pack would ran down quick.

I'm using a 5 cell 1100 mah NiCD on my boat (Shockwave) and the 603 rx, good for about 18 runs.

Get that 50 mah as far from you as you can ! !!! Get a real running time battery !!!! If weight is not an issue consider some high capacity 2200~3300 mah.......many......many hours of fun !
those are way too much for me, better go with lypos in planes, but those 1500 mah NICADs or Nickel Metal will do great !
Go for them !

Status: offline 		I ordered a 6v 1100ma battery which I will use for the receiver of my Aeromarine Conquest and Rico Rigger gas boats, thanks to all who posted.
