I don't have experience with these batteries but a "normal" IB 1400 should also get the job done well. I wonder if these bigger capacity batteries have trouble fitting in the stock location?

a lot of companys claim 1600 when there really 1400-1500. Kinda like Venom with there "5000mah" batterys. Bet you there more like 4200

Just get yourself some Elite 1500 packs. They peak somewhere around 1600-1700mah, even though they are labeled as 1500s. I like the IB1400 cells, too, but they peak almost right at 1400. Cheapbatterypacks.com has good prices on them and they do an exceptional job at building them.

Is there any simple way [read: multimeter] to test the real capacity and discharge rate of a battery. I've got a range of stick packs from 500mAh to 1400mAh of various configurations and would love to get some actual numbers as sometimes "seat of the pants feel" just isn't enough. Would be good to find out which ones are the best value for money so that I can get the different pack configs using the same type of cells.

IB cells are made by Intellect. I think they're the cells that are in the Integy and Reedy 1400 packs.

$29 is a lot, considering you can get the Elite 1500 packs for $20. I paid $50 for a pair of Hyperion 1800mah LiPo packs, so I'd probably pass at that price.
