xymox71 -> Axe CP - Tilts Right on Takeoff (3/10/2008 4:42:57 AM)

Newbie here - As soon as I put enough throttle into the Axe CP she starts tilting to the right...

I tried to trim it out via the transmitter - but it didn't help... And yes I got a little impatient and took it to 75% Throttle thinking I could flight it out.... Big mistake - she still tilted left and I throttled to 0% in time to stop most damage - but I ripped the blades a bit and broke a blade grip.

Any suggestions on what I need to trim to get it to lift off straight up? The Sims (RealFlight) all take off immediately up straight.

Normal - the tail rotor pushes right to keep the tail steady, and because it's thrust is below the center of the main blades causes the tilt. Learn to counteract it when you lift off.

I just borrowed a friends axe cp and I noticed the same thing. It seems the heli wants to flip on its right side. I have a theory and as soon as I fix this thing (of course I broke blade grips, woodies, and rear rotor) I'll tell you if it works. I found the tail rotor was slightly tilted, and I don't know if the torque produced from the push of the rotor is enough to effect the flipping tendency of the heli, but I'll try to adjust this and maybe a little more to help minimize the effect. Now I've only flown this thing 3 times so excuse my newbieness.

Sorry - I didn't realize the tilt was so drastic! Yes, the tail rotor should be absolutely perpendicular to the main blade!

Yeah having the tail tilted a little can cause it to "swerve" or tilt on take off but also gyro law states that any vertical movement is also going to cause lateral movement. basically, when heli going up, it also goes sideways but soon stablizes.

check your servo links had to adjust mine from factory setting to make it level.
