OK I have a falcon 3d which of course came with a marginal brushless inrunner motor. It was deffinitely time to upgrade, so I bought the Align 430L brushless outrunner motor, which I'm sure many are familiar with. My falcon came with a good 30A ESC. When I hooked up the brand-new, sealed in package motor, there was nothing. No startup beeping sequence or any response from the motor at all. I know the ESC is good because it still works with the old brushless inrunner motor. I tried hooking up the three wires in every possible combination but that didn't work. Any suggestions for why this is happening? Do I need to reprogram the original ESC to work with this new motor or do I just need to buy a new ESC?

If the ESC works with the old motor (beeping) and not with the New motor. I would have to say that the new motor is bad. The motor is what makes the beeping sound. Maybe the motor was bad from the factory. Is the throttle stick all the way down ( not in idle up before you plugg it in)? My CC 35 amp ESC wont do anything until the throttle stick is all the way down. Its a safety feature.

Well I finally just went back to my LHS and bought the align speed control to go with the new motor. The Art-Tech ESC is not able to be programmed, at least by the user anyway. But this new outrunner motor and ESC was definitely worth the investment! I can fly my helicopter for long periods of time now without any overheating. The 430L has a well-designed cooling capability and appears to be much more efficient. Good 18 min flight time with 2100mAh Thunder Power battery.
