I'm bumping this because more people seem interested in it again and we don't need ANOTHER poll created.

Bumping a thread is not allowed per RCU Policies. I do understand your desire to keep the thread going, especially when there is an ongoing poll. Keep in mind, however, that if the thread ends up many pages back, that is also an indication of the popularity of the idea and/or the poll.

Actually got to thinking about this a little more. Think of it this way for a second, let the "big three" have their own space, we get about everything else..LOL!!! Just a thought, us owners know that if you use the search feature then you will find a ton. Or if you just bring up the Monster Truck catagory then low and behold on the first page is several threads pertaining to the MGT 4.6, MMGT, and 8.0. So final thought, let them be them and we can have the rest....Just my opinion, take it as it is, or overlook it..

Well I'm sorry about the bumping...but.. 88 people voted YES to having a sub forum...and 104 people voted in total. You do not see that many different people posting on the average daily basis in the monster truck forum.

I guess what I don't understand is if this many people are calling for it, why not create it? It's not going to cost you anything to have an Associated sub-forum and it will get used. The various threads (MGT, mMGT, and 8.0) get posted to all the time and a sub-forum would help separate out all of the topics within each one of those. Why the resistance on the part of RCU staff?

The fact of the matter is, most of the moderators do not make decisions regarding the discussion forum structure, and can only relay this request to the administration. If they believe there is enough interest for expanding this section, it will happen. Otherwise, it will not. It's that simple.

Right now, the moderators in the collective 'RC Cars, Buggies, Trucks, Tanks and more' forums are stretched pretty thin. The staff needs to stay on top of 36 different forums, and adding another means more coverage, time, and commitment. That is not an easy issue to resolve.

Seems kind of ridiculous that a sub-form cannot be added. I rarely come here for that reason as I go to places like monster gt forums or ground pounders. Seems like a simple move to increase forum activity to me.

I agree that there should be an Associated-Thunder Tiger sub-forum. There are literally hindreds of car RCU members who at least have one AE vehicle.

Of course, as the mods say, a new forum is not something they can create, they can only moderate, not create new forums or other new features in RCU's site.
I guess the way to express the demand for such a new forum or new RCU site features is to express the desire and demand to RCU admin and RCU owners. Afterall, they are the ones who have the power to create or remove forums and/or site features.

I know that this thread is around a year old but it would be nice to have an AE sub. I wish I could ask some questions without being told that I must have a Savage or Revo. I'm just getting started in this hobbie and would like some unbiesed help.

Yeah, I agree. There are thousands of AE posts, but no dedicated sub-forum. It would be great to have that forum as a resource for things AE.

I understand that making a new forum is not helpful for the mods since they have so much more to oversee to begin with, but to compensate, RCU can delete several existing forums that are little used.

The Shumacher and Academy/MRC forums are examples. Under 700 posts each. Get rid of those two rather useless forums and make one AE forum. This is still one less net forum to moderate; hardly anyone posts in those forums. I actually probably seen more Schumaker posts outside of the chumacher forum.

If you want to have such a forum created you should get in touch with AE they are the ones who contribute as advertising and ultimately are the ones who pay to help keep this whole forum alive. MONEY TALKS

It's sad that it has to be that way. But since it is at thre prerogative of the owner of RCU and its afflieated sites, I guess money would be the best way to appeal to RCU's owner to get this to happen.

If you add up all the post on the first page that talk about mgt it equals more post than a couple other sub forums, thats not including the 1700+ post topic on the 8.0

Mini MGT tread 719 posts and 26,000 hits. Mini MGT has only been out for about a year. Just that in itself warrants a forum. MGT is scattered all over this site. I canT even add up all the posts but its alot.

Ok here it is in a nutshell. You watching Moderators? You cant say there is no interest. From top to bottom

Anyone have a Mini MGT- 714 posts - 26,000 hits
OFFICIAL Monster gt 8.0- 1726 posts 50,000 hits
Monster Gt anyone have one 8635 posts 172229 hits
New MGT 4.6 59 posts 2800 hits
Best way to lighten up MGT 12 posts 318 hits
MGT 8.0 engine- 5 posts 279 hits
MGT 8.0- 100 posts 8500 hits
MGT fans - 72 posts 3889 hits

These are just a few treads about the MGT. There are too many to even list but these add up to just about 12,000 posts not including the 50 other treads that only have 5-20 posts each. They also had about 275000 hits. So no interest huh? This is WAYYYYY more than ALOT of the other forums that are here. You say you dont have enough mods to watch these? What about the countless MGT posts all over this site? WHO DO WE HAVE TO CONVINCE????????? And dont delete this post because it has facts and its not hurting anyone. Polls are not accurate.

Yes, no doubt. If we can get enough people expressing the demand, then I think RCU will reply and get an AE forum going.

To consolidate it, they could migrate the known major existing AE threads into the new sub-forum. And to help the mods, delete the Shumacher and Acedemey forums. To preserve threads in those tiny forums, RCU can archeive those posts or migrate their containe threads into the general forum. If RCU simply archieved those entire forums, no one will really miss them because there are some existing Schumacher and Acedemey MRC already in existence in this very forum and general forum. As a matter of fact, just below this thread is the Schumacher Havoc thread!

Not sure if anything will come of this because like said above it all might come down to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Who do we have to contact. I dont think other than the mods and us no one else from RCU reads this. Ill keep pounding this subject till someone starts a new forum or I get banned for being a pest. Maybe if some of us go start treads in different forums about voting on the poll it may help. One of us cant make multipal posts about the same thing but maybe several might work.

Look like we have a mod on our side! She even gave us links to the some people we can write to to see if they can pass the word further up to get an AE forum and even possible delete the junk forums that are basically not being used.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8498129/tm.htm

I hope these folks can convince the owners that RCU can benefit from a dedicated AE forum. And if they do make one, not every single existing AE thread needs to be migrated into the new forum, just the big existing AE trheads (those with 1000 posts and more in them).
