Mike.

I was wondering if the Fusion 9 receiver is compatible with a JR 9303 TX with Synth. module? I am interested in the Fusion since it looks a lot better than the JR offerings for a new molded sailplane that I just got.

Thank you for your help!

Mark,

Yes, the Fusion is compatible with all brands of FM transmitters.

Mike.

The Futaba 9Z with the synth module is a strange beast... it gives most receivers except the Futaba fits. It works fine with all our receivers if using the STD module but use the synth module and they don't work properly.

Sorry, I guess my reply should have been "It works with all brands of FM transmitter except the 9Z w/synth."

Mike.

Mike ... I do not think you or Hitec need to say sorry. I personally think that Hitec receivers are absolutely the best, and also Hitecs' incredible service.

The 9Z with Synth. apparently has different encoding that will not work with odd receivers. Maybe it will work with this one and maybe it won't. Who knows? I fly with either a Futaba 9C or 9Z, but mostly Hitec Supreme receivers and have never had any problems (with the 9Z, except with the Fusion). I was toying with the notion of upgrading to the Futaba 12Z. When I asked a question here, a while back about whether the 12Z had the same type of problems, I received an evasive answer. (actually a non-answer). If anyone asks the question, the standard answer is"it will work with Futaba receivers" But long time fliers, that have been in the hobby half a lifetime normally have a variety of receivers. I would think that as long as the shift is correct, then things should be cool. However, that is not the case with the 9Z, and perhaps also the 12Z?!?

Bruce- I'm not 100% sure, but I think the compatiblity issue is only with the 9Z/synth as we have not heard of any issues (calls) about problems using our receivers with the 12Z.

Mike.
