Hey Bud!!! Run the 7700 mamba max, on a 4 cell lipo setup. That should give you a hand full

dude get rid of those plugs....Tamiya plugs melt in a touring car!!
Use Deans or Traxxas plugs for your battery connection, even for the motors so you can quick change 'em.
Hi amps = hi temp in any connector. You want max volts to the motor, no resistance in the conductors is a must. the battery will have its own internal resistance, plus you're losing in copper losses, back EMF,hysteresis, etc. all from the motor. It's an Electrical law, can't get around it, just need to know how to minimize it....Zero resistance connectors is a good start :-)

hey, just what i wanted to hear. i already order the the mamba system with the 7700 motor.
but then found the specs for all the motors, to find out the 5700 has 60+mph top speed and and the 7700 has 50+mph.
i guess its because of the higher cell count? any ideas...
so that's what my plan was 7700 with two 2 cell lipo 2200 = 4 cell at 4400
will that be faster then the 5700 with those batts?

thanks

dude rip out that motor. on that gearing it woulnt last any length or have the torque to get a good speed. get the velineon motor and any esc you want.
the velineon motor could be geared as high as you want without any major problems. ive seen it geared 40 60 a few times.
if i were you id get a mamba max esc so you can tune every aspect of it. thats just my opinion.

Do I spy the old Bolink spur gear?!!? Get rid of it, it is a soft plastic and you will strip it in 3 passes. I know because my Bolink went through 2 of them and finally switched to Robinson Gears. Not sure if this applies but, I have the old Bolink Econorail Dragster and my gearing was 24/81 under a 10t handwound motor, 12 cells (2000 mah). I plan on taking her back out and throwing one of my brushless units in her.

Your drag looks nice... lets us know how the set powerplant runs!
