Hey Everybody,

This is not a BS question but a honest one. I recently received, by way of an excellent doctor, a pacemaker with a built in defibulator to keep my old heart working correctly. In the skads of paperwork I also had to read through it told about the many things that I have to be careful being around due to the frequencies it operates on and the location around anything with a strong magnetic field.
Just to be safe about it,
I am trying to find out the signal strength because I still intend to keep flying. I currently have both Hitec and Futaba radios, all either FM or PCM models. From what I understand a transmitter of 5 watts or greater held within 12 to 18 inches of my pacemaker could have an effect on it. I will read the paperwork again but if someone has the answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Our R/C transmitters are about 1/4 watt or less. This is on 72 mHz. I don't have a 2.4 gHz system but I think their power output is similar.

FCC regulations: Section 95.210 involving power regulations are frequency related. Please note 72-76 mhz section

Sec. 95.210 (R/C Rule 10) How much power may I use?

(a) Your R/C station transmitter power output must not exceed the
following value under any conditions:
