When I Bash My 'SOON, I like to use AVALANCHE rims n tires. This Saves My EXPENSIVE Tires for the Track.
It also gives me a Bit more Ground clearance.....Some folks wanted to see Pics,,,so here they are......
Lol...You'll Notice my Futaba Xmitter in the Background, those of you who Know me will know WHY its Futaba and not Redcat!

Well I can tell you that the Avalanche rims are weak. My son has broken several and Im done with them. This is not from hard hits or landings either. Never saw a wheell break so easily. I just went out and bought a set of Maximizer beadlocks. I have read that they are very strong and if it breaks its just 4.00 for a new faceplate instead of the whole wheel and I dont have to glue them.

I hear Ya TwoMany....Ive broken a lot of Redcat rims on my other trucks...
I Dont Bash my Monsoon too hard....
If I Break it, I want it to be on the TRACK, Darn it! Lol...
Im sure I'll break em soon enogh tho, and then I'll get some Disk Rims n MT tires

Beadlocks sound like a good idea. I looked at the Maximizers online....How does THAT bead lock system work? Screws, or something else?

I just installled the beadlocks. They install in a series of rings and then you use screws to attach the outer plate to the inner rings. There is no way these tires can come off. The plastic just feels heavier and thicker. You dont have to worry about teh chrome coming off if you clean them also. I love teh way the redcat wheels look but its not worth the aggrivation of replacing after every few runs.

If I was to buy some of those I would have to get a new body and paint it black as well. That would look insane.

Yes I know I do like chrome but not having good luck with redcat rims and chrome starts to look like crap after a while from the oil and dirt.

I got them from my local shop. You can get them online or even ebay. They are Maximizer 3.2" 17mm beadlocks. NOT cheap at all. They were $25 a pair.

If you want just your basic 40 series strong rims for the Avalanche 17mm hex 40 series work real well and a set of 4 is only about 28 bucks

That was what I was thinking TOO, untill I had THIS problem with the Glued on tires that are installed on my Volcano: I Washed them in soap n water (too much water ) and the water got inside the tire on the foam. Now they are so out of Balance that I cant go faster than 1/2 throttle without the tires literally BOUNCING up n down. One set of tires n foams ruined, because BOILING the tires for removal will kill them ,,,right?
If I had Beadlocks, I could just Dis-assmbled and replace the ruined Foam.....Big cost saver.
