Whai value [ohms] resistor do I need to use a six-volt battery on a volt watch 1 ? All my birds have voltwatch ones inside the canopy.

I wouldn't recommend it. Even if you get the voltwatch to work you will never be sure of accuracy and a resister will cause more current draw running your battery down even quicker.
"IF" you are using 6 volt batteries as a safety measure against losing a cell or dropping below cuttoff on a 2.4 Ghz system you may consider a voltage regulator. There are several on the market that will reduce the 6V to around 5V. You will still have the peace of mind from the 6V system and your voltwatch will then work.

I could put a pot in series with a voltWatch one an find the ohmic value I need, but I thought someone would have done that .

My question is still new. May-be somebody has.

I just got my first voltwatch2. I had no idea it was so small. I should have no problem fitting it on board.

You can not successfully just put a resistor in series with the voltwatch to raise the voltage level to be sensed and still expect any accuracy. They do not work that way, it takes a change in the internal resistor lattice.
