SERRASOMETHING -> schumacher r12 w/serpent wheels, question!!?? (3/17/2008 4:06:08 AM)

Bought a pair of serpent wheels and foams and the adapters to put them on my r12.

I installed them, had to trim the heck out of the body so it fit, but I was so excited!

Car looks bad as HELL!

I am wondering, I heard you need a front one way. What is going to happen when I try to run these tires on the stock car, because I just got to try it!

Thanks,

Rick

I don't see why you would require a front one way to use a different brand of tires? I've never heard of that before, as a matter a fact I've been using my R12 with front and rear diff's since i bought it and never had any isse at all no matter what tire I used??

OK,
I suppose if you never had a pair of serpant wheels in your hand you would not know. But, serpant whees are LARGER DIAMETER in the back then in the front, thats my thought about the front one way,

Any opinions will help, any help??

Rick

You are correct you do need a oneway if the tires are of different diameters otherwise the front end and the rear end are going to resist each other when the car is running.

U2632 is a front one way for an R12.

I have a question which may have a Capitan obvious answer or not?

Why don't you true the tires to the same outside diameter front to rear, or will these serpent rims/tires not allow that?

If you true the tires to the same diameter front & rear then you can use ball diffs on front and rear. By running smaller tires on the front it looks cool and you get a slight overdrive effect.

Very true, the look can be quite good looking[:D]
