Wow very cool! Any way to get a preorder list going? I would be putting an E-power system in it and shoot for 200+. Fusalage looks quite roomy for batteries!

I second that, maybe we could save on shipping to get two in the USA.

More models in a box is always cheaper. The first side of the fuse mold is ready.
It was a lot of work but after opening the mold I always smile.
Polishing the inside let me smile more.
Now it is time for cutting the wings and making the CNC file for routing the wing underside.
Tomorrow I can open the belly pan mold.
The stab will be cut today, it is sym. and sheeted with epoxy and thin 0,4mm plywood.
The thin plywood is used for the wings too. The trailing edge will be very strong and sharp.
Between the ends of the trailing edge glass is used with epoxy.
In between I will build my new turbine racer. That one is almost ready for painting.
Let's cut some wings. The last mold pictures:

The belly pan mold is ready. Now it will be closed without the plug for a few days.
When fully dried the surface will be polished and the first belly pan can be made.

Today I have learned from my German friend that f.a. an OPS 60 engine with 22.000 rpm and a 8,5x10 gives more speed on the Strega than an 40 engine with 22.000 rpm and a 8x8 or a 7,5x 8,5 because of the more thrust.
If you think about it you can understand that because more air will be moved. So my second model will be with a 60 engine.
Here are some pictures of the inside of the belly mold:

The wings are cut. Second picture is kevlar that will be glued between the foam and plywood as hinges.
That is very strong and flutter free. On the underside you will have to cover the split with tape from a glider.
Or make it from Sellotape.
The control horns are made CNC of epoxy plate which are glued into the ailerons with UHU plus.
I will use the 4-40 Sullivan links and 4-40 threads with a carbon hollow rod again glued with UHU plus.
Over the steering arm will be shrink tube so the links can not open in a high speed turn.
First mount the links, after mounting heat the shrink tube and all is ready for speed.
Make the bottem very visable with bright colours use an other design than the top of the wing.
With a sign plotter I will make the same Strega signs as on the real plane in black, red or blue.
Now I will have to check the length of the retract legs if the prop for a 60 engine will fit.
Tomorrow the wing and stab will be sheeted with plywood and pressed with thick glass plates.

Wing sheeted with thin pywood and epoxy before being pressed under thick glass.
At the same time the stab has been done.
Now I will have to CNC cut an underplate for cutting the bottems of the wing.
The cnc file for the router is ready.
Is all clear at the moment ? Any questions or suggestions ?
I have got the question if a wheelmount can be placed under the fuse.
Should it be better to make two wings one with cutouts for normal retracts
and one wing without cut outs for non retractable wheels under the fuse ?

re: Wing area.

I come up with 421 square inches, not 460.

If more flyers need a bigger wing I can make a kit with a bigger wing for competition.
