Use a drill marker to make a small hole for drilling the 2,4mm hole for tapping the thread. Use first the thread maker with one stripe, this one is the most important one, screw it several times carefully in and out and use the blue stuff for lubrication. The blue stuff you can use for making a nice fire on the BBQ. After thread nr.1 use the one with two stripes and at last use the one with no stripes on it. Always use the blue stuff and clean your thread equipment in the blue stuff. Carefully mount the inbus M3. After tapping the thread I have made two parts for fitting on the bigger engine.
Before drilling the holes for the engine bolts use some masking tape on the motormount legs and use the original mounting hole template but check if the holes are in the middle. With mine template the holes where not in the middle so I have used a thin pencil to mark the holes for the engine bolts. Use the drill marker and make the thread, take the time to do it carefully.
Mount the motormount on the firewall and mount the engine. There is a drawing in the kit with the zero lines for mounting the engine on the right spot. Draw the zero lines on the firewall and mount the motormount carefully. I have used 3 formers of 3mm with good quality plywood. 9mm good qualtity plywood is not for sale only bad 8mm. Glue the three parts together with Elmers white or epoxy. So a good quality plywood is better. With the kit I will enclose a template from 0,4mm plywood for mounting the spinner. You put the template between the fuse and the spinner. When glueing in the firewall in the fuse first sand the spot in the fuse with 80 gritt and remove the dust. Mount the motormount on the firewall and mount the engine after making a whole in the fuse for the engine. Mount the spinner with the template and line out the spinner on the fuse. Watch that the engine is straight in the fuse, tape the spinner with masking tape to the fuse, check if the engine is still in the right position and spot glue the firewall with a few drops ZAP green to the fuse. When the ZAP green is dry glue the back of the firewall with UHU plus. A day later remove the engine and glue the front of the firewall with UHU plus. I never remove the motormount. Do not forget to drill a hole for the throttle cable (red Sullivan) if you use a carburator. More pictures will follow but first I will make the new mold tomorrow, the day after I will cut the nose of a fuselage to draw the firewall.
Please advise the colors for the Strega ?? Red and white blue and white or Red and silver or blue and silver maybe a third color like a kind of neon green ???
I have made the first fuselage former. It fits excellent. Tomorrow I will make a new one with some holes for mounting the motormount. I have started with a cheap quality wood untill all is ready for the final one. This is the better work :
When building in an engine I always start without carb or venturi. When all fits OK and the firewall has been glued you can remove the fuselage parts for the carb or venturi. This saves a lot of troubles and fitting is easier.
