Mike,

Any idea when, or if, you're going to give us a smaller-sized BM? I love building, pattern planes, and the Black Magic but building a plane of that size is out of the question right now. I'd can do a ship sized around a YS1.10 or 1.40 and based on the obvious quality of your kits (for builders) you be the man!

So? COME ON MAN! What's it gonna be??? PLeeeeease!!!

The plans are in the works and he is currently working on the prototype. Unfortunately he has been busy working on full 2m size Vf3's. Once they get out of the shop he'll be back on the prototype...Realistically I'm guessing it'll be sometime just after the NATS,

He makes incredible airplanes...I can't wait to get the 1.10 also..but my 2nd V3 is on his list as well. Absolutely the best builder I've ever dealt with. I'd set my current VF3 up against any of the japenese airplanes..and he only had 7 days to glass and paint mine...

I can't wait to see this one with no time limitations..

Thanks Arch. There might be a couple of people who wouldn't agree with you right now

All I can say about the 110, is that it's ready whenever it's ready. As mentioned I have a lot of building projects in the interum, so my plate is pretty full. The 110 SHOULD be one of my top priorities, but right now it simply can't be that way due to other more "serious" things.

This one will be worth the wait. There won't be any "sport" about it. It will be a full on FAI plane, just a little smaller....and much cheaper. if it doesn't fly like it's big brother, I am not done with it. if I can find a method of making it easier to build or just plain better, I am not done.

But rest assured, it's on the way. I just don't want to venture a guess on the time frame, because I WILL be wrong if I do. I won't rush this plane, it has to be "right".

That's cool... I'm OK waiting if it'll produce a superior design/product. Hopefully sometime this summer so in the interim I'll hold off buying anything else until the BM110 arrives.

+1 on that. I may try a gas powered 2M version one day, as well, but my basement is full of kits and plans that need to be dealt with first. A 110 sized one will be easier to justify at the moment.

Mark

PS - Mike would a Webra 120 or 120AX be reasonable 2 stroke alternatives to the YS110 for this plane? In keeping with the cheaper theme and all...

I was planning on using an OS 120 AX in mine. Possibly with an Aeroslave pipe and K.M. custom-made header. Should be a good matchup if the plane comes out light. If it's anything like the full size Black Magics (V2 and VF-3) it WILL.

Yes on the 120 2 strokers. It's designed primarily for the YS110, the OS 120AX, and electric with an 8S pack.

The ones I have will be tested with the YS 110 and electric. I'll shoot a prototype to John there for an OS 120 test.

It's about to break loose fairly soon guys, so hang tight. But my guess right now (and it's just a guess) is a summer release. I won't pull the trigger on this one until we have some stock built up. Else from the number of questions I get over this plane vs the 2 meters, I may not see daylight for 5 years LOL

This one is going to be just what the doctor ordered. I haven't been this excited over a non 2 meter plane in a very long time....

Mike,

I have an idea for the color scheme of the YS equipped prototype. I'm thinking something along these lines??

What do you think???

LOL You know you'll have one dude

Monokote though, I think it's probably overkill to glass and paint one of these.

But yeah, I see an orange one in the future...

Just let us know when the pre-order line forms. I'm in for one if my Webra 120 will work.

Yeah. Me too! Any speculation regarding a price point give or take some?

Dude, what's your problem? When was the last time you flew in a Patttern contest? Arch has good reason to say what he does. Don't take stuff so seriously. We're playing with toy airplanes. If you want to impress us, come to the NAT's with your Japanese airplane and kick our butts.

John Pavlick
Team Black Magic

Always makes me laugh when people talk about the quality of their Japenese airplanes, which most are actually Chinese built Oxai planes...sure they are nice, but I would put my v3 up against ANY of the Naruke built airplanes. There were a LOT of those Japense designed Oxai planes that finished a LOT lower than i did last year at the NATS. I've flown the Astral XX and the Zeque and the V3 matches up against them all. Its really easy to come on a Forum and talk a good game...forget coming to the NATS..show up at a Masters contest in District 6.

I think I may have to make it a point to show up at a European contest next year with my V3 while I'm overseas....

I have yet to have ANYONE who flew my V3 not just immediately say WOW...that plane stacks up against anything in the world, and I expect nothing less from the 1.10 size,

Arch
