I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you trying to build a Dogfighter with rudder instead of ailerons, or are you making a Dogfighter a 4 channel plane?

If you are building a Dogfighter with no ailerons, with a flat wing, with a rudder, I do not think it will handle very well, if at all. I think that for a rudder-steering plane to work, you need some dihedral to make it level off after turns.

There really isn't much benefit of adding rudder control to a Dogfighter unless you are putting landing gear on it and want to steer it on the ground.

If I am totally missing your point, please clarify.

Good luck.

i built it with a 4 channel setup. The rudder control is for adding more acrobatic control. The wing is perfectlyu straight.

Tubeman,

You won't get the same effect with a rudder on a flat wing as you do with a dihedral wing. Where you'll notice the rudder on the Dogfighter is starting or stopping a flat spin, hammerhead stall, etc. Otherwise, you probably won't really notice much improvement in performance without 3D sized control surfaces and max deflection, and a fatter, longer, and wider symmetrical wing.

Let us know what happens. You might have discovered a new use for the Dogfighter!

SPAD skies,

DL

You may even get negative yaw ...input right rudder plane yaws left and vise versa.

pattern plane pilots would build the wing so they could add dihedral until the rudder would make the plane flat turn with no yaw effect.

Then reinforce the wing so it would handle the Gs of maneuvers they were preforming.
