Status: offline 		Hello to all? How we doing? How fast we riding or how long has it been since you rode b/c your car is a piece?

I'm running an 11.1V, 4000mAH, Venom Lipo battery in my Traxxas Brushless Rustler right now. I'm new to the Lipo world. I would like to buy a few more lipo batteries but I'm not sure what brand or what size is best recommended for my unit. I've been looking at these HongKong batteries and the price is very attractive but is it good quality? What has been your experience with Lipo batteries. I'm open for any suggestions.

Status: offline 		Generally the quality of the "cheap hong kong" batteries is not very good.. The price savings and aggrivation tend to not be worth the price of the pack once it is all said and done..

As far as picking a lipo..

An "easy" was to think about lipos is sorta like this: Mah = runtime, C = amp draw, Voltage = punch.. It's not an exact science, but when you go looking for lipos, it helps..

I usually pick a pack like this..

How many cells do I want to run on? 3? 4? 5? Once I have this figured out, it's time to move on to the next thing..

I then figure out what sorta amperage I am going to be pulling.. I then start to look for packs based on those numbers...

Once I find said pack, I then look at whether there are packs of the same amp capabilities with different available mah amounts..

Then I buy the pack..

I'm looking to buy new charger for these batteries as well. Any Suggestions?

Should I be running these lipo batteries down before recharging them? I don't want to ruin my Lipos. I'm using a balancer on my Triton now and topping them off after each run. Is this OK? How can I avoid killing a lipo?

Status: offline 		No, you do not need to discharge your packs all the way down.. That will kill a lipo cell.. Lipo cells are fully drained at 3.0v's.. So your 3S pack would read a total of 9.XXvolts - it is time to be charged.. Fully charged your pack will read 12.6X volts as a fully charged lipo cell is 4.2X volts..
