thats what I did when I was a kid....had 3 lawns to mow everyday....could have them done before noon so I could make it to the pool..in the winter I shoveled snow and did other odd jobs..do a good job for a reasonable price for the right person and they will get you more work...when it snowed my customers would turn others away even knowing it may be awhile before I got there....and I didnt even have my own mower...one lady I mowed her yard for diabetic cookies...I'd choke them down.. but she was the lady that got me all my other jobs...

I generally let the person decide depending on who it is. Last summer, I only did it for 1 person and I got $30/cut and then they gave me $300 for leaves (is it just me or does that sound high?).
