if you change a product that has a patent by 10 % you yourself (in most cases) can patent that item because you have improved on the product by changing it

Example...

the FG Marder (patented).......then the Firehammer (almost a direct copy 90%) came along.... had enough differences....never heard about any lawsuits still on the market today

Hellya, the information you are posting with respect to intellectual property is 100% incorrect. There are no "percentage" assesments made when evaluating patentability. The standards for patentability in the USA are directed to the concepts of novelty, usefulness, and non-obviousness (these are terms of art - don't try to interpret them with their usual meaning).

Like I said before, if you don't know what you are talking about, please don't post.

make the item have a 10% difference and any patent or copyright is null and void

No offense, but you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Briefly:

A patent is defined by the CLAIMS. An item infringes a patent if it meets all elements of the claims - no matter what else may be present or how different other portions may be. This is known as the "all elements rule".

Copyright holders control the rights, among others, to prevent others from publishing, distributing, selling, and creating derivative works based on the copyrighted work.

Trademark and trade dress owners can prevent others from offering products or services which are likely to cause confusion.

If you don't know what you are talking about, please don't post regarding that topic. It's not helpful to anyone to spread false information.

LOL , i read only a portion of this out of controll thread it makes me laugh . it just plain common sense buy a clone and you get just that , i stick with hpi ORIGINAL for a reason and a simple reason to not have any of the problems that clones encounter full stop . I would rather spend double buying every single original hpi part from DDM to make my self one complete working baja then waste my good money on clones , but at the end of the day it all comes to whats in your wallet and what your brain is telling you. But what conquers all is common sense but not every person has this lol

I'm going to take the bait and say that I cannot imagine Wal-Mart selling these!!

If it is true, what stores (IE states) are selling them?

Wallmart will not sell these. If you look (besides electronic section) most of their products are developed in USA. They do not like giving money to other countries.

I bought a King Motor Baja from v*tec. It came with an aluminum pull start claw. The engine is not a CY it is a Sanren. The carb is a Ruiing. I had problems with this carb. The needles are actually screwed into some clear plastic tube thing with a brass cap on the end. If you look at it you can see the brass the the needles screw into. It came with a battery. I was impressed, I was actually expecting to get one of those "4 double A holders", but instead it came with a sub c hump pack that is stamped: 6 volt 2000 mah nickel metal hydride.
The radio, to me, seemed better than I expected. I swapped it out right away though. It does not have a fail safe even though the auction plainly states that it comes with a fail safe. I did put batteries into the radio and I think I saw a gap in between the batteries, like they didn't fit in tight enough. It didn't work and I tried again and it worked. I tore it down to get to the differential because I wanted to make sure that it had oil or grease in it. It did. But I'm totally disappointed in the quality of plastic that the diff is. It seems way too soft to me. One of the little short screws(plugs) on the diff was already striped out.

So anyway this thing is really cool. I'm still tuning the carb, I can't get it right, only good enough. One thing I can't believe is how quiet it is compared to my FGMT. And I have already broken the body.
