Buy a bunch of HPI stickers and put them all over your km and kick some butt!

That's what I'm saying!!! LOL!!www.rcuniverse.com="" js="" fckeditor="" editor="" images="" smiley="" msn="" forum="" alt="" />

On a sad note: I am not getting a spark today. Almost threw my shoulder out yanking on this thing this morning (keep you minds out of the gutter, heheh) What is the best fix to this problem?www.rcuniverse.com="" js="" fckeditor="" editor="" images="" smiley="" msn="" forum="" alt="" />

Not to come across as a "know it all" but I have found out a long time ago, that when trying to start an engine with a pull starter, if it does not fire up within the first ten pulls, then you might as well stop, find the problem, fix it then try again.

My stock KM engine always started in 5 pulls or less, and my CY 29 will start in two pulls when everything is right, and if I over choke it, then it can take up to 4 pulls.

I always wondered about the spark on the stock engine as it seemed a little weak when I would check it with the plug out. The CY engine gets a more visiable spark. Sometimes the engine starts when I do a feeble pull and only turn the engine over 1 revolution.

Last thing I have found with pull starters is a short brisk pull is enough. No need to pull the chord out all the way.

If I was still using my stock engine, and wanted to continue to use it, I would get a complete new ignition system except for the flywheel which only contains magnets and replace everything.

Dennis

Have you rechecked the gap between the mag and flywheel?  That moved on me once and drove me nuts until I realized what happened.

All is good...I checked that gap and reset it just in case. I think it was a case of that and flooding the engine when I was trying to get it started. Ran it today and it was speedy!! Has anyone run the 19/55 gearing on the 23cc? I readjusted the carb and now it speeds up once it hits it's curve...almost twice as strong! i will try to post a video soon of what I am experiencing. I picked a GPS to test my speed now with this new pipe. It is almost scary running this near anything that resembles a curb or post!

I picked up the 19/55 set the other day and did some GPS runs with my 23cc, tweaking the carb as I went along.  With the stock exhaust (minus the extension tube) and stock gears, I got 37 MPH.  When I add a homemade silencer to the stock exhaust, I get 38MPH.  When I switched to the 19/55 gears, I got 40MPH.

does anyone know the King motors website? and the heathobby website?

As far as I know of they only sell on Ebay. Heat Hobby is easy to find on there by searching for "King Motor"

I had a few minutes at home today to run mine with the gp290. Two words come to mind, and the first one is Holy. The paddles get little traction in grass but she wheelies if it does. I ran a little in the driveway by my house. Mistake. When I looked back the entire side of it was covered in mud. My mom met me at my house for something and wanted to see if she could start it. I recorded her cranking it cold. She did good. Three or four pulls then recorded me driving it some. I got about 20 minutes of driving recorded and downloaded to my computer before having to come back. I'll try to edit and upload in the next few days.

The top end on my 29cc motor went out today. Has anyone on here rebuilt the top end,(maybe the 30.5cc big bore kit) Or should I just scrap the whole thing and go for the gp290. Any advice will be appreciated.

I would go ahead and buy an entire engine. If you read a few pages back I ordered a gp290 for mine. Paid out the butt for 2nd day shipping so it would be here before I started back on my long week at work. When I pulled my stock engine out the clutch housing was cast into the case and not removable like on real cy engines. I ordered mine sans clutch so I was SOL for another week until a new clutch housing came in. I just wasted that money on shipping. A whole new engine isn't much more than a top end kit. It would suck for you to order one only to realize it won't work with your bottom end. It may work, but I wouldn't bother.

I believe they're both rated to begin engaging at 8k rpms, but that's when used with the corresponding clutch shoes. The stock clutch shoes are heavier. It will stall higher than the stock spring but not quite as high as it would if you bought the set. Look closely at the pic and you'll see the high response shoes have holes drilled to remove weight where the stockers are solid. Going to the SS clutch kit (shoes and spring) added a lot of snap to mine. I didn't try just the spring. Too big of a pita just for an experiment

The HPI web site states stall speed is 7,000 rpm's for their red spring and standard clutch shoes. When using the same red spring with lightened clutch shoes (the ones with the extra holes) the stall speed is 8,000 rpm's.

right now i have the hpi high response clutch set in my buggy.takes some rpms to go but will wheelie, hits hard.put the ddm clutch with red spring in backwards in my t1000,came in too soon, really boggy.switched it back.i think the high response clutch setup would work real good in the truck.i dont think i need it for the buggy with the gp290 in it,or maybe it would work reversed,i shoulda tried it.well see, both runnin good.
