First-timer huh? A hint on how to find the place. Look for the exit to the 5/3 (Fifth/Third Bank) Ballpark at the Washington Street exit. The SeaGate is right next to it. That's where the Toledo Mudhens play.

I-75 exit 201, follow the signs. There are signs for the Seagate Center as well as the ball park. Then drive around the place 3 or 4 times trying to find the correct parking garage. You'd think, between being a truck driver and having been going there for about the last ten years, I'd be able to find that thing. I never have problems finding the convention center but I actually ended up in the wrong garage last year!!

I think there's some sort of vortex in that area. I have a great sense of direction, but I get lost every time I go to that damn city.

Come to think of it, there MUST be some sort of vortex that disorients people. Why else would people live in Toledo???

I park in the multi-level garage across the street from the back entrance to Seagate.

It'll be about $10.00 a day but easy walking distance, unless it's snowin' and blowin'.

But we won't talk about that.

The good lots are now UNDER the Mud Hens ball field!

Mike and I stay 3 blocks down the street at the Riverfront hotel (formerly the Wyndom). We just put our car in valet parking and then use the hotel shuttle to get back and forth to the convention. The shuttles there are pretty good unless you ask them to recommend a good local resturant, and then you'll wind up at some high price "snooty" place!!!!

You sure don't want to eat at the SeaGate! Nasty overpriced typical arena food so pack your belly before going in.
Last year Sullivan Products offered me a hot dog, I should have taken them up on it. They've got this really cool hot dog toaster in their booth, you'll find it by the aroma! I keep telling them that they'd sell a lot of those things. We Mod's like to hit Tony Packo's, it's a must every year. They now have Packo's At The Park on the other side of the ballpark, kind of upscale but still the same prices as the main restaurant. Go there and you can thank us later.

There's another great place right on the corner (Across N. Summit from the Seagate) called "Murphy's Place"

Ron,
We still go to the original Packo's on the other side of the river. It's not hard to get there and back, unless Minn is driving!!!!

There's also Mancy's Steak House, but that's REALLY pricey!

Mike,
Yeah, that place was REALLY expensive. We all sat down and looked that the menu and our jaws hit the floor. If I remember correctly it was something like $12 for a baked potato side dish!!! We all looked at each other and Minn spoke up saying "Hey, I'm not above walking out of here!!" So that's what we did. we walked!!!!

The original Tony Packo's is a little tricky to get to for those trying to find it for the first time. After crossing that big bridge just (I want to to say south) of the SeaGate is where you have to turn left but you can't as you're not supposed to make a left there legally. I go to the next intersection then turn around to hit it. I think that the street goes by another name but changes into Front Street. Take that up the road and you'll see Tony's at the corner of Consault. That place is nothing fancy, more like a neighborhood sports bar but you'll love the place. The waitstaff makes you feel like they've known you forever. The food is dine-in or take-out. Take the time to look at the autographed hot dog buns that line the walls in there and see all of the people that have signed them, from rock stars to actors and heads of state. You might even run into a celebrity in there. www.tonypackos.com .
