Status: offline 		I have flown Gas (Glow) Powered airplanes for 3 years since I was 12. I never really found eletric interesting until now. I still love Glow powered but i want something that is easier to start and not have to worry aboutcleaning up exhaust after the flight. What is a inexpensive model that is very cheap? Im only 15 and i cant afford much at all. I only have the 9 glow powered because my flight instructor-friend had a heart attack at 63. His wife gave me all of his planes and equipmend and planes FREE. end of story. Any suggestions for a first time eletric flier?

Status: offline 		Assuming you are familiar piloting with a 4-channel Tx and a plane with both rudder and aileron control you may get bored buying a less expensive 3-channel R/E/T plane.

What are your longer range interests--electric gliders/slope soaring and thermal seeking; sport/racing; flying combat foamies; extreme 3D perfection; indoor micros, 4D; helicopters; ducted fan jets; custom designs and build projects; etc.

Status: offline 		HI Crashmaster - there's so many planes you could buy.

If you want an out of the box "combat" model well the class you want to fly combat will dictate your model choice, unless you just mean tooling round with your mates. An EPP foam wing with a big donk and battery is hard to beat (say an Elebee from windrider on about 400watts). Like all elevon deltas you actually need people to fly with/against otherwise they get kind of boring for experienced pilots despite the speed. Not exactly expensive, but not exactly cheap either.

There are a lot of cheap foam warbirds out there at the moment (GWS knockoffs mainly) - you can put a little brushless in these (if they don't come with one already) and get quite a lively little flyer for only a few bucks.
