what do you think im doing wrong? what do I need to improve on? do I need new tires?
the reason I am asking these questions is because I was sliding around alot, and I want to be a good racer, but its hard when your sliding everywhere

Could anybody post the dimensions of the e-firestorm's battery tray?

cheers

If you are worried about number of cells, it'll take 7 C Sub C in stick or side by side configuration.
No hump packs with default battery retainer.

Consider 1) increasing wheel base of your setup, 2) have a stiffer differential.

Practice smoother inputs, atleast when you are negotiating turns.

Who has the most efficient gear setup for a stock efirestorm. I did the calculator and it looks like I should keep the spur gear at 87teeth and change the pinion from 19t to 31 teeth. Would this work well?

Well, 31 T pinion ... will it fit. I doubt.
How did you arrive at a figure of 31.
Per calculations, 19T is the optimum setup.
Go up or down couple of teeth for speed or torque.
Keep watching your motor and esc temps if you go above 19T.

I'm running a 9.5 lrp brushless motor with the stock pinon. No heat issues so far.
I had a guy look at this truck is it 48 pitch or metric? So I can use 87 tooth T4 spur gears as a replacement?

I'm pretty darn sure it's 48 pitch, just not 100% sure.

I must say the 9.5 brushless motor I chose was a good choice at my local track.
And the stock tires really hooked up fine there also, but might not work everywhere.

This chassis has alot of race potential for what it is.
thread shocks, high quality parts, everything in between.
Although some parts need to be replaced to have a stronger race truck.

The stock ball-studs are not ment for racing and will break very easy, so it's best to replace them with AE or losi ball-studs.
And cap the the ball-stud ends off with lock nuts, then use a drop of blue threadlocker.

And since the ball-studs are upgraded get you some matching black RPM ball-cups also.

Drain the old oil out of the shocks and re-fill them with 25,30,35-40wt shock oil depending on the track conditions.

Nice vid although you might want to turn down the audio track a little ouch! Should have the sw 4600 soon and cant wait. What battery were you running for that? Currently I have nothing good for batteries but will be upgrading them somewhat soon but still staying with nimh. I hate waiting for things but my LHS did not have the SW or MM so I had to order online ughhh waiting sucks.

Hum this E-firestorm looks very familiar? Are you Vroom from rcworld?
Looks like this is a race ready one for the track. Cool!

Belive me I got hit with the brushless bug and I was hooked for sure.
I have not even tried the stock motor and esc and radio yet(still in the plastic), I have decided to put them in my blackfoot extreme basher instead.

I swapped mine over to a Kimborugh 87 tooth T4 spur gear, and B4/T4 slipper pads.
Yeah my spur was starting to strip also so I had to swap it out.
Might have something to do with the stock motor screws because they are way too short.
I ended up replacing those also with some longer ones.
