aquaguy yeah its the DSX-2 body i ordered a clear one when i bought the truck back in march and only got the body last month, the shocks are good, i abused them on my nitro fst and they'r still holding the shock oil, one of my other cars came with a pair of plastic shock wrenchs so thats what i used to tighten them

Good Luck with your HSC. I did that about 10 years ago, man I feel old.
Never seen any E-Firestorms at Ryde, only see Losi's ,ZX5's, B4's, BJ4's, T4's and B44's so I decided to get myself a B44 after I saw how well they perform. Th E-firestorm performs quite well at the track, I'm very happy with how it goes. The T4's still seems quicker though but I still had stock tyres plus I'm a Noobie and the T4's are more race oriented I guess.

anyone know of any hard e-firestorm bashing videos? i've searched and came up empty handed. i hear you guys beat your trucks pretty well. there is just not that many people with the e-firestorm, and it's hard to find good info outside of this thread.

great thread, read through all the pages. I took a break from R/C cars to start my family and am now wanting to get back into it. I have about 5 years experience in R/C so Im not a newcomer.

I used to be a nitro powered guy but am looking to get my son (he's 5) into the hobby with this truck. Im still researching about Lipo vs NiMH, but I might just start us with a 6 cell NiMH pack(pre-assembled for now).

I was looking at the Intellect 4200mAH stick pack to get us started.

was wondering if its recommended and what others were using.

Also, I still have to do research on a battery charger and was wondering if anyone can give me some recommendations on one(not too expensive) and Ill do the research from there.

Thanks for all your time.

Cant wait to get started in Electric

The e-firestorm is a good truck to start with, and end with. but remember, spending more in the begening can actually save you some in the end.

^^^that is absolutely true and I did learn that from my nitro days...oh boy did I ever

like I mentioned, Im looking into Lipo vs NiMH

but on the charger side, I think I might end up with either a Duratrax Onyx 230 charger or look into something from MRC(I have to take a peek, I dont know if they offer chargers that charge both NiMH and Lipo, they probably do)

this will be his first real r/c car and I thought I would start him off with electric.

as for me I might just get me another Nitro TC3, god I miss that car

at the current time nitros have really taken the back seat. at this time, i would advise driving a nitro instead of owning one. electrics now offer more power for less work. it's a basic formula and as more and more people buy them, prices go down. with the lipo technology you can run for an hour on some batteries. that's plenty when you consider there is no after run process. i would go right to lipo. a 2s is about the same speed as a high quality 6 cell, but they hold their charge for a lot longer and are amazing in the charge department. they aren't as unsafe as people think, either. trust me, go lipo/brushless from the start, you will be right up there with the big boys, and you wont be going out and buying a brushless system, balancer, charger, and lipo in a couple months. after you get lipo, you will not really want to use your NiMh so those will turn into money down the drain.
