My buddy was flying his Honeybee FP in a calm day(thought to be). A sudden wind came and blown the little bird away. It fell and crash-landed into a cliff where it is too dangerous for retrieving it. We spent two hours trying to get down there but was unsucessful. So we had no choice but left the bird die there. Question: It was running on a 7.2v 1500 mah lipo (50% left probably) and was still connected when it crashed. My bet is the lipo would probably be completely drained within several hours. Will a drained lipo explode under prolonged sunlight or rain? Anyone thoughts?

if you have a good charger you may get it charged back up. may loose a little life in the long run if you can get it charged back up but hey its not that big a deal with those lipos around 7 bucks. wish i was a little closer id help ya fish for it

Lipos usually explode when you over charge them, or possible when you short them out. But not when it's drained. Got any climbing friends? Maybe they can repel down to the cliff to retrieve your bird?

Take a fishing rod with big hook on the end with lotsa wieght on the line and try fishing for it..

yeah the fishing pole method also works great when you loose it to a Tree! serious flyers bring those with them on the flying fields and a pair of binoculars !! even know a guy with climbing harness and rope...now thats serious stuff !!
